Abstract

An electronic device is configured to transmit, to a wireless network, a link request message requesting a user identifier be associated with an identifier corresponding to the electronic device; receive, from the wireless network, a registration response confirming that the user identifier has been associated with the identifier corresponding to the electronic device; and receive, from the wireless network, updated configuration information for the electronic device, wherein at least part of configuration information is associated with the user identifier.

Claims (27)

1 . A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) comprising:

a processor configured to:

receive first configuration information comprising an indication of one or more policy section identifiers (PSIs), wherein each PSI is associated with policies that comprise one or more UE Route Selection Policy (URSP) rules, and wherein each PSI is associated with a plurality of identifiers that comprise a network identifier;

store the first configuration information;

receive second configuration information indicating a first PSI associated with a first network identifier, wherein the first PSI indicates one or more new policies;

receive updated configuration information indicating a second PSI associated with a second network identifier, wherein contents of the one or more new policies are not updated in response to the updated configuration information; and

send uplink data based on a determination that the uplink data meets a condition in the new policies and based on the second network identifier.

2 . The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein each PSI is associated with one or more users, and each user is associated with a network identifier.

3 . The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the contents of the policy section comprise the URSP rules of the policy section.

4 . The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the policy section comprises a plurality of policies, and wherein each policy of the plurality of policies comprises URSP rules associated with the policy.

5 . The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the updated information changes a condition for using the policy section but does not change the URSP rules associated with the policy section or the policies associated with the policy section.

6 . The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of identifiers further comprise a user identifier.

7 . The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the processor is configured to store the second identifier in association with the policy section.

8 . The WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the first identifier comprises a first user identifier, and wherein the second identifier comprises a second user identifier that is different from the first user identifier.

9 . A method comprising:

receiving first configuration information comprising an indication of one or more policy section identifiers (PSIs), wherein each PSI is associated with policies that comprise one or more UE Route Selection Policy (URSP) rules, and wherein each PSI is associated with a plurality of identifiers that comprise a network identifier;

storing the first configuration information;

receiving second configuration information indicating a first PSI associated with a first network identifier, wherein the first PSI indicates one or more new policies;

receiving updated configuration information indicating a second PSI associated with a second network identifier, wherein contents of the one or more new policies are not updated in response to the updated configuration information; and

sending uplink data based on a determination that the uplink data meets a condition in the new policies and based on the second network identifier.

10 . The method of claim 9 , wherein each PSI is associated with one or more users, and each user is associated with a network identifier.

11 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the contents of the policy section comprise the URSP rules of the policy section.

12 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the policy section comprises a plurality of policies, and wherein each policy of the plurality of policies comprises URSP rules associated with the policy.

13 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the updated information changes a condition for using the policy section but does not change the URSP rules associated with the policy section or the policies associated with the policy section.

14 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the plurality of identifiers further comprise a user identifier.

15 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising storing the second identifier in association with the policy section.

16 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the first identifier comprises a first user identifier, and wherein the second identifier comprises a second user identifier that is different from the first user identifier.
