Abstract

Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for wireless communications. A base station may send, to a wireless device, one or more radio resource control messages comprising parameters for one or more bandwidth parts or other wireless resources. The base station may send, to the wireless device, downlink control information comprising one or more bandwidth part identifiers. The wireless device may switch, based on the downlink control information, from a first bandwidth part to a second bandwidth part.

Claims (41)

1 . A method comprising:

receiving, by a wireless device from a base station, one or more messages indicating a field, among a plurality of fields in downlink control information (DCI), to be used by the wireless device for bandwidth part switching;

receiving, via a control channel, the DCI comprising the plurality of fields, wherein each field of the plurality of fields indicates a bandwidth part for a different wireless device; and

switching from a first bandwidth part to a second bandwidth part indicated by the field.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the switching comprises deactivating the first bandwidth part.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the switching comprises activating the second bandwidth part.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more messages further comprise a timer value for a second bandwidth part inactivity timer associated with the second bandwidth part, and wherein the method further comprises:

starting, based on the timer value and based on the switching, the second bandwidth part inactivity timer.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more messages further comprises a radio network identifier.

6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the DCI is scrambled by the radio network identifier.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more messages comprises an index associated with the wireless device, wherein the method further comprises determining, based on the index, a position of the field in the DCI.

8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the index differs from each of a plurality of other indices each associated with one of a plurality of other wireless devices.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more messages comprises a wireless device-specific identifier associated with the wireless device, wherein the method further comprises determining, based on a wireless device identifier in the DCI indicating the wireless device-specific identifier, the field.

10 . A wireless device comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to:

receive, from a base station, one or more messages indicating a field, among a plurality of fields in downlink control information (DCI), to be used by the wireless device for bandwidth part switching;

receive, via a control channel, the DCI comprising the plurality of fields, wherein each field of the plurality of fields indicates a bandwidth part for a different wireless device; and

switch from a first bandwidth part to a second bandwidth part indicated by the field.

11 . The wireless device of claim 10 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to switch from the first bandwidth part to the second bandwidth part by deactivating the first bandwidth part.

12 . The wireless device of claim 10 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to switch from the first bandwidth part to the second bandwidth part by activating the second bandwidth part.

13 . The wireless device of claim 10 , wherein the one or more messages further comprise a timer value for a second bandwidth part inactivity timer associated with the second bandwidth part, and wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to:

start, based on the timer value and based on the switching, the second bandwidth part inactivity timer.

14 . The wireless device of claim 10 , wherein the one or more messages further comprises a radio network identifier.

15 . The wireless device of claim 14 , wherein the DCI is scrambled by the radio network identifier.

16 . The wireless of claim 10 , wherein the one or more messages comprises an index associated with the wireless device, wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to determine, based on the index, a position of the field in the DCI.

17 . The wireless device of claim 16 , wherein the index differs from each of a plurality of other indices each associated with one of a plurality of other wireless devices.

18 . The wireless device of claim 10 , wherein the one or more messages comprises a wireless device-specific identifier associated with the wireless device, wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to determine, based on a wireless device identifier in the DCI indicating the wireless device-specific identifier, the field.

19 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed, configure a wireless device to:

receive, from a base station, one or more messages indicating a field, among a plurality of fields in downlink control information (DCI), to be used by the wireless device for bandwidth part switching;

receive, via a control channel, the DCI comprising the plurality of fields, wherein each field of the plurality of fields indicates a bandwidth part for a different wireless device; and

switch from a first bandwidth part to a second bandwidth part indicated by the field.

20 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 19 , wherein the instructions, when executed, configure the wireless device to switch from the first bandwidth part to the second bandwidth part by deactivating the first bandwidth part.

21 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 19 , wherein the instructions, when executed, configure the wireless device to switch from the first bandwidth part to the second bandwidth part by activating the second bandwidth part.

22 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 19 , wherein the one or more messages further comprise a timer value for a second bandwidth part inactivity timer associated with the second bandwidth part, and wherein the instructions, when executed, configure the wireless device to:

start, based on the timer value and based on the switching, the second bandwidth part inactivity timer.

23 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 19 , wherein the one or more messages further comprises a radio network identifier.

24 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 23 , wherein the DCI is scrambled by the radio network identifier.

25 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 19 , wherein the one or more messages comprises an index associated with the wireless device, wherein the instructions, when executed, configure the wireless device to determine, based on the index, a position of the field in the DCI.

26 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 25 , wherein the index differs from each of a plurality of other indices each associated with one of a plurality of other wireless devices.

27 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 19 , wherein the one or more messages comprises a wireless device-specific identifier associated with the wireless device, wherein the instructions, when executed, configure the wireless device to determine, based on a wireless device identifier in the DCI indicating the wireless device-specific identifier, the field.
