Abstract

Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described for wireless communications. Cells may be grouped into a plurality of cell groups. If a first signal is configured for transmission via a first cell of a first cell group in parallel with a transmission of a second signal via a second cell of a second cell group, a wireless device may drop, or adjust transmission power of, at least one of the first signal or the second signal.

Claims (53)

1 . A method comprising:

transmitting, by a wireless device, a random access preamble (RAP) via a cell of a first cell group; and

transmitting, via a cell of a second cell group and in parallel with transmission of the RAP, a sounding reference signal (SRS) using an adjusted transmission power that satisfies an allowable transmission power associated with transmission of the SRS and the transmission of the RAP.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein for any overlapped portion of the SRS and the RAP, a total transmission power of the wireless device does not exceed the allowable transmission power associated with the transmission of the SRS and the transmission of the RAP.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the adjusted transmission power of the transmission of the SRS is scaled by a scaling factor that is greater than zero and smaller than or equal to one.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the SRS is a type zero SRS.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the adjusted transmission power of the transmission of the SRS is adjusted over a period of one subframe.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein:

uplink transmission timing associated with the first cell group is based on a first reference cell of the first cell group; and

uplink transmission timing associated with the second cell group is based on a second reference cell of the second cell group.

7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising determining a transmission power for a transmission of the RAP before transmitting the RAP.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the transmitting the SRS is based on:

the SRS not being configured for transmission in parallel with and in a same cell as transmission of one or more other signals.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the transmitting the SRS is based on the first cell group being in-sync.

10 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

transmitting, by the wireless device, a second RAP via a cell of the first cell group; and

transmitting, by the wireless device, a second transport block via a cell of the second cell group using an adjusted transmission power that satisfies an allowable transmission power associated with transmission of the second transport block and the transmission of the second RAP.

11 . A wireless device comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to:

transmit a random access preamble (RAP) via a cell of a first cell group; and

transmit, via a cell of a second cell group and in parallel with transmission of the RAP, a sounding reference signal (SRS) using an adjusted transmission power that satisfies an allowable transmission power associated with transmission of the SRS and the transmission of the RAP.

12 . The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein for any overlapped portion of the SRS and the RAP, a total transmission power of the wireless device does not exceed the allowable transmission power associated with the transmission of the SRS and the transmission of the RAP.

13 . The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the adjusted transmission power of the transmission of the SRS is scaled by a scaling factor that is greater than zero and smaller than or equal to one.

14 . The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the SRS is a type zero SRS.

15 . The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the adjusted transmission power of the transmission of the SRS is adjusted over a period of one subframe.

16 . The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein:

uplink transmission timing associated with the first cell group is based on a first reference cell of the first cell group; and

uplink transmission timing associated with the second cell group is based on a second reference cell of the second cell group.

17 . The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the wireless device to determine a transmission power for a transmission of the RAP before transmitting the RAP.

18 . The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to transmit the SRS based on:

the SRS not being configured for transmission in parallel with and in a same cell as transmission of one or more other signals.

19 . The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to transmit the SRS based on the first cell group being in-sync.

20 . The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the wireless device to:

transmit a second RAP via a cell of the first cell group; and

transmit a second transport block via a cell of the second cell group using an adjusted transmission power that satisfies an allowable transmission power associated with transmission of the second transport block and the transmission of the second RAP.

21 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed, configure a wireless device to:

transmit a random access preamble (RAP) via a cell of a first cell group; and

transmit, via a cell of a second cell group and in parallel with transmission of the RAP, a sounding reference signal (SRS) using an adjusted transmission power that satisfies an allowable transmission power associated with transmission of the SRS and the transmission of the RAP.

22 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 21 , wherein for any overlapped portion of the SRS and the RAP, a total transmission power of the wireless device does not exceed the allowable transmission power associated with the transmission of the SRS and the transmission of the RAP.

23 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 21 , wherein the adjusted transmission power of the transmission of the SRS is scaled by a scaling factor that is greater than zero and smaller than or equal to one.

24 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 21 , wherein the SRS is a type zero SRS.
