Abstract

Systems and methods for displaying content based on event monitoring are disclosed herein. Control circuitry plays a delayed portion of a live content stream via a primary display window. The control circuitry detects an event in the live content stream and plays the event via a secondary display window overlaid upon the primary display window. The control circuitry determines whether to modify an aspect of a secondary display window based on the event and modifies the aspect of the secondary display window based on a result of the determining.

Claims (35)

2 . A method comprising:

playing a delayed portion of a live content stream;

analyzing content between the delayed portion of the live content stream and the live position of the live content stream to detect at least one event;

determining a respective rank for each of the at least one detected event; and

based at least in part on determining that none of the respective ranks of each of the at least one detected event is above a predetermined importance threshold:

generating for display a navigation menu comprising an option to shift the playing of the live content stream to the live position of the live content stream.

3 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising:

generating a respective event identifier, a respective rank, and a respective time segment information for each of the at least one detected event; and

storing the respective event identifier, the respective rank, and the respective time segment information for each of the at least one event in memory for subsequent analysis of the at least one detected event.

The method of claim 2 , wherein the analyzing content between the delayed portion of the live content stream and the live position of the live content stream is triggered based at least in part on determining that a delay between the delayed portion of the live content stream and the live position of the live content stream is greater than a threshold delay time.

The method of claim 2 , wherein the analyzing content between the delayed portion of the live content stream and the live position of the live content stream is based at least in part on determining that an amount of time that has elapsed since a most recent analysis of the content stream is greater than a threshold content analysis repetition period.

6 . A system comprising:

control circuitry configured to:

play a delayed portion of a live content stream;

analyze content between the delayed portion of the live content stream and the live position of the live content stream to detect at least one event;

determine a respective rank for each of the at least one detected event; and

based at least in part on determining that none of the respective ranks of each of the at least one detected event is above a predetermined importance threshold:

generate for display a navigation menu comprising an option to shift the playing of the live content stream to the live position of the live content stream.

7 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the control circuity is further configured to:

generate a respective event identifier, a respective rank, and a respective time segment information for each of the at least one detected event; and

store the respective event identifier, the respective rank, and the respective time segment information for each of the at least one event in memory for subsequent analysis of the at least one detected event.

The system of claim 6 , wherein the analyzing content between the delayed portion of the live content stream and the live position of the live content stream is triggered based at least in part on determining that a delay between the delayed portion of the live content stream and the live position of the live content stream is greater than a threshold delay time.

The system of claim 6 , wherein the analyzing content between the delayed portion of the live content stream and the live position of the live content stream is based at least in part on determining that an amount of time that has elapsed since a most recent analysis of the content stream is greater than a threshold content analysis repetition period.

10 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions encoded thereon that when executed by control circuitry cause the control circuitry to:

play a delayed portion of a live content stream;

analyze content between the delayed portion of the live content stream and the live position of the live content stream to detect at least one event;

determine a respective rank for each of the at least one detected event; and

based at least in part on determining that none of the respective ranks of each of the at least one detected event is above a predetermined importance threshold:

generate for display a navigation menu comprising an option to shift the playing of the live content stream to the live position of the live content stream.

11 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the instructions cause the control circuitry to further:

generate a respective event identifier, a respective rank, and a respective time segment information for each of the at least one detected event; and

store the respective event identifier, the respective rank, and the respective time segment information for each of the at least one event in memory for subsequent analysis of the at least one detected event.

The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the analyzing content between the delayed portion of the live content stream and the live position of the live content stream is triggered based at least in part on determining that a delay between the delayed portion of the live content stream and the live position of the live content stream is greater than a threshold delay time.

The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the analyzing content between the delayed portion of the live content stream and the live position of the live content stream is based at least in part on determining that an amount of time that has elapsed since a most recent analysis of the content stream is greater than a threshold content analysis repetition period.
