METHOD FOR DERIVATION OF PICTURE OUTPUT FOR NON-REFERENCED PICTURE IN CODED VIDEO STREAM
A method, computer program, and computer system is provided for coding video data. Video data including a current picture and one or more other pictures is received. A first flag corresponding to whether the current picture is referenced by the one or more other pictures in a decoding order is checked. A second flag corresponding to whether the current picture is output; is checked. The video data is decoded based on values corresponding to the first flag and the second flag.
1 . A method for encoding video data, executable by at least one processor, comprising:
obtaining video data comprising a current picture and one or more other pictures;
determining a first value of a first flag, wherein the first flag indicates whether the current picture is referenced by the one or more other pictures in an encoding order;
determining a second value of a second flag, wherein the second flag indicates whether the current picture is an output; and
encoding the video data in accordance with the first value of the first flag and the second value of the second flag.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first flag and the second flag are signaled in a picture header or a slice header associated with the video data.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein, when the first flag being set to one and the second flag being set to zero, the current picture is not encoded.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first flag indicates whether the current picture is referenced for motion compensation or parameter prediction.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the second flag indicates whether the current picture is cropped and output.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein a value of the second flag is inferred based on a value of the first flag.
7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the value of the second flag is inferred at the encoder side.
8 . A computer system for coding video data, the computer system comprising:
one or more computer-readable non-transitory storage media configured to store computer program code; and
one or more computer processors configured to access said computer program code and operate as instructed by said computer program code, said computer program code comprising:
obtaining code configured to cause the one or more computer processors to obtain video data comprising a current picture and one or more other pictures;
first determining code configured to cause the one or more computer processors to determine a first value of a first flag, the first flag indicating whether the current picture is referenced by the one or more other pictures in a decoding order;
second determining code configured to cause the one or more computer processors to determine a second value of a second flag, the second flag indicating whether the current picture is an output; and
encoding code configured to cause the one or more computer processors to encode the video data based on the first value of the first flag and the second value of the second flag.
9 . The computer system of claim 8 , wherein the first flag and the second flag are signaled in a picture header or a slice header associated with the video data.
10 . The computer system of claim 8 , wherein, when the first flag being set to one and the second flag being set to zero, the current picture is discarded.
11 . The computer system of claim 8 , wherein the first flag indicates whether the current picture is referenced for motion compensation or parameter prediction.
12 . The computer system of claim 8 , wherein the second flag indicates whether the current is to be picture cropped and output.
13 . The computer system of claim 8 , wherein a value of the second flag is inferred based on a value of the first flag.
14 . The computer system of claim 13 , wherein the value of the second flag is inferred at the encoder side.
15 . A non-transitory computer readable medium having stored thereon a computer program for coding video data, the computer program configured to cause one or more computer processors to:
processing a bitstream of a video data according to a format rule,
wherein the bitstream includes a first flag and a second flag,
wherein a first value of the first flag indicates whether the current picture is referenced by the one or more other pictures in a decoding order,
wherein a second value of the second flag indicates whether the current picture is output, and
wherein the format rule specifies decoding the video data based on values of the first flag and the second flag.
16 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the first flag and the second flag are signaled in a picture header or a slice header of the bitstream of the video data.
17 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein, when the first flag is set to one and the second flag is set to zero, the bitstream does not include the current picture.
18 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the first flag indicates whether the current picture is referenced for motion compensation or parameter prediction.
19 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the second flag indicates whether the current picture is to be cropped and output.
20 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein a value of the second flag is inferred based on a value of the first flag.
