Abstract

A computer system for indicating payment options can include: one or more processors; and non-transitory computer-readable storage media encoding instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the computer system to: receive a request from a client device for accepted payment options for business in the vicinity of the computer system; identify at least one point of sale device; identify accepted payment options from the at least one point of sale device; send a signal to the client device indicating the accepted payment option associated with the at least one point of sale device.

Claims (35)

1 . A computer system for indicating payment options comprising:

one or more processors; and

non-transitory computer-readable storage media encoding instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the computer system to:

receive a request from a client device for accepted payment options for a business in a vicinity of the computer system;

identify at least one point of sale device of the business;

identify the accepted payment options from the at least one point of sale device;

and

send a signal to the client device indicating the accepted payment options associated with the at least one point of sale device.

2 . The computer system of claim 1 , comprising further instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the computer system to:

determine a preferred accepted payment option based upon a customer profile associated with the client device; and

indicate the preferred accepted payment option as a recommended one of the accepted payment options if the preferred accepted payment option is included within the accepted payment options.

3 . The computer system of claim 2 , comprising further instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the computer system to communicate with the client device to display the preferred accepted payment option.

4 . The computer system of claim 1 , comprising further instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the computer system to indicate all accepted payment options for the at least one point of sale device to the client device.

5 . The computer system of claim 1 , comprising further instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the computer system to receive context data to determine the accepted payment options.

6 . The computer system of claim 5 , comprising further instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the computer system to use machine learning to analyze the context data.

7 . The computer system of claim 1 , comprising further instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the computer system to settle a financial transaction between the client device and the at least one point of sale device.

8 . The computer system of claim 7 , comprising further instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the computer system to analyze the financial transaction for risks.

9 . The computer system of claim 1 , wherein the client device is configured to display a payment indicator icon as a feature of the operating system and wherein the payment indicator icon is configured to request and display the accepted payment options.

The computer system of claim 9 , comprising further instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the computer system to indicate the accepted payment options as cash if no electronic accepted payment options are accepted by the point of sale device and signal the client device to change the icon displayed on the client device.

11 . A method for indicating payment options from a computer system, the method comprising:

receiving a request from a client device for accepted payment options for a business in a vicinity of the computer system;

identifying at least one point of sale device of the business;

identifying accepted payment options from the at least one point of sale device; and

sending a signal to the client device indicating the accepted payment options associated with the at least one point of sale device.

12 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising:

determining a preferred accepted payment option based upon a customer profile associated with the client device; and

indicating the preferred accepted payment option as a recommended one of the accepted payment options if the preferred accepted payment option is included within the accepted payment options.

13 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising communicating with the client device to display the preferred accepted payment option.

14 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising indicating all accepted payment options for the at least one point of sale device to the client device.

15 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising receiving context data to determine the accepted payment options.

16 . The method of claim 15 , further comprising utilizing machine learning to analyze the context data.

17 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising settling a financial transaction between the client device and the at least one point of sale device.

18 . The method of claim 17 , further comprising analyzing the financial transaction for risks.

19 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising the client device displaying a payment indicator icon as a feature of the operating system and an interaction with the payment indicator icon requesting and displaying the accepted payment options.

20 . The method of claim 19 , further comprising indicating the accepted payment options as only cash if no electronic accepted payment options are accepted by the point of sale device and signal the client device to change the icon displayed on the client device.
