Abstract

According to the disclosure of this document, it is possible to signal information related to a chroma quantization parameter offset through a palette coding syntax, and to efficiently parse and signal index information for a chroma quantization parameter offset list on the basis of information about the number of entries in the chroma quantization parameter offset list. Accordingly, bits that need to be signaled for video/image coding can be reduced, and coding efficiency can be improved.

Claims (29)

1 . A decoding apparatus for image decoding, the decoding apparatus comprising:

a memory; and

at least one processor connected to the memory, the at least one processor configured to:

obtain image information including prediction mode information and index information on a chroma quantization parameter offset list from a bitstream;

derive a value of a chroma quantization parameter offset for a current block based on the index information on the chroma quantization parameter offset list;

derive a chroma quantization parameter for the current block, based on the value of the chroma quantization parameter offset; and

generate a reconstructed sample by applying a palette coding mode based on the chroma quantization parameter, for the current block to which the palette coding mode is applied based on the prediction mode information,

wherein the image information includes a palette coding syntax including a syntax element for performing the palette coding mode,

wherein the palette coding syntax includes the index information on the chroma quantization parameter offset list, based on information on a number of entries in the chroma quantization parameter offset list and flag information related to whether the current block contains at least one escape coded sample,

wherein the palette coding syntax includes information on a quantized escape value based on the flag information, and

wherein an escape value is derived based on the information on the quantized escape value, and the reconstructed sample is generated based on the escape value.

2 . An encoding apparatus for image encoding, the encoding apparatus comprising:

a memory; and

at least one processor connected to the memory, the at least one processor configured to:

generate prediction mode information on whether a palette coding mode is applied to a current block;

derive a chroma quantization parameter offset for the current block;

generate index information on a chroma quantization parameter offset list based on the chroma quantization parameter offset; and

encode image information including the prediction mode information and the index information on the chroma quantization parameter offset list,

wherein the image information includes a palette coding syntax including a syntax element for performing the palette coding mode,

wherein the palette coding syntax includes the index information on the chroma quantization parameter offset list, based on information on a number of entries in the chroma quantization parameter offset list and flag information related to whether the current block contains at least one escape coded sample,

wherein the palette coding syntax includes information on a quantized escape value based on the flag information, and

wherein the quantized escape value is generated based on quantization for a value of the escape coded sample in the current block.

3 . An apparatus for transmitting data for an image, the apparatus comprising:

at least one processor configured to obtain a bitstream of image information, wherein the bitstream is generated based on generating prediction mode information on whether a palette coding mode is applied to a current block, deriving a chroma quantization parameter offset for the current block, generating index information on a chroma quantization parameter offset list based on the chroma quantization parameter offset, and encoding image information including the prediction mode information and the index information on the chroma quantization parameter offset list; and

a transmitter configured to transmit the data comprising the bitstream of the image information,

wherein the image information includes a palette coding syntax including a syntax element for performing the palette coding mode,

wherein the palette coding syntax includes the index information on the chroma quantization parameter offset list, based on information on a number of entries in the chroma quantization parameter offset list and flag information related to whether the current block contains at least one escape coded sample,
