Abstract

A motor vehicle includes a ramp, a sliding door that when open allows the ramp to be deployed from the vehicle, and an anti-rattle device to prevent or reduce rattling of the ramp against the door or other components of the vehicle when the ramp is in a stowed position. The anti-rattle device includes an arm pivotable relative to the door and a roller rotatably coupled to the arm, spaced apart from the door, and configured to contact the ramp.

Claims (22)

. A motor vehicle, comprising:

a vehicle access device movable between a deployed position and a stowed position, wherein a space separates a first structure of the vehicle access device from a second structure in the stowed position;

an anti-rattle device having a deployed condition wherein the anti-rattle device is disposed the space and urges the vehicle access device away from the second structure.

. The motor vehicle of claim 1 , wherein: the anti-rattle device includes an arm moveable relative to the second structure and a spring coupled to the arm; the arm is disposed in a first position in its deployed condition and is disposed in a second position in its stowed condition, the first position being different from the second position; and, the spring is configured to bias the arm toward the second position.

. The motor vehicle of claim 2 , wherein: the vehicle access device is a ramp; the second structure is a door of the motor vehicle being movable between a closed position and an open position; when the ramp is in the stowed position and the door is in the closed position, the ramp is located in an interior of the motor vehicle adjacent the door; and, the arm engages with the ramp and moves from the second position to the first position as the door moves from the open position to the closed position.

. The motor vehicle of claim 1 , wherein the anti-rattle device comprises a bladder that is inflated in the deployed condition.

. The motor vehicle of claim 4 , wherein the access device is a ramp.

. The motor vehicle of claim 5 , wherein the ramp is part of an in-floor ramp assembly.

. The motor vehicle of claim 6 , wherein the second structure is the underside of a cover for the in-floor ramp assembly.

. The motor vehicle of claim 6 , wherein the second structure is the underside of a floor of the motor vehicle.

. The motor vehicle of claim 5 , wherein the ramp is disposed above a floor of the motor vehicle in its stowed position.

. The motor vehicle of claim 9 , wherein the second structure is a door of the motor vehicle.

. A vehicle access device for a motor vehicle, the vehicle access device being movable between a deployed position and a stowed position wherein a space separates a first structure of the platform from a second structure in the stowed position, the vehicle access device comprising an anti-rattle device having a deployed condition wherein the anti-rattle device is disposed the space and urges the platform away from the second structure.

. The vehicle access device of claim 11 , wherein: the anti-rattle device includes an arm configured to move relative to the second structure and a spring coupled to the arm; the arm is disposed in a first position in its deployed condition and is disposed in a second position in a stowed condition, the first position being different from the second position; and, the spring is configured to bias the arm toward the second position.

. The vehicle access device of claim 12 , wherein: the vehicle access device is a ramp; the second structure is a door of the motor vehicle being movable between a closed position and an open position; when the ramp is in the stowed position and the door is in the closed position, the ramp is located in an interior of the vehicle adjacent the door; and, the arm engages with the first structure of the ramp and moves from the second position to the first position as the door moves from the open position to the closed position.

. The vehicle access device of claim 11 , wherein the anti-rattle device comprises a bladder that is inflated in the deployed condition.

. The vehicle access device of claim 14 , wherein the vehicle access device is a ramp.

. The vehicle access device of claim 15 , wherein the ramp is part of an in-floor ramp assembly.

. The vehicle access device of claim 16 , wherein the second structure is the underside of a cover for the in-floor ramp assembly.

. The vehicle access device of claim 16 , wherein the second structure is the underside of a floor of the motor vehicle.

. The vehicle access device of claim 15 , wherein the ramp is disposed above a floor of the motor vehicle in its stowed position.

. The vehicle access device of claim 19 , wherein the second structure is a door of the motor vehicle.
