Abstract

The present disclosure provides system and methods for a vehicle infotainment system (VIS) to monitor physiological parameters of occupants of a vehicle. The VIS also monitors vehicle operating parameters. The VIS is able to detect when an occupant is experiencing a physiological condition and correlates the physiological condition to one or more vehicle operating parameters. In response to detecting a physiological condition and to determining the correlation, the VIS causes an action to occur in order to mitigate the physiological condition and/or to seek assistance for the physiological condition.

Claims (37)

31 . A method comprising:

determining a geographic location of a vehicle;

retrieving, using processing circuitry, historical physiological data of at least one occupant of at least one other vehicle when the at least one vehicle was at the geographic location, wherein the historical physiological data indicates that the at least one occupant experienced physiological discomfort;

identifying historical operating parameters of the at least one other vehicle at the geographic location when the historical physiological data of the at least one occupant of the at least one other vehicle at the geographic location was collected; and

based at least in part on determining that the vehicle is approaching the geographic location or is at the geographic location, causing modification, using the processing circuitry, of an operating parameter of the vehicle, based at least in part on the historical operating parameters of the at least one other vehicle at the geographic location.

32 . The method of claim 31 , wherein the causing the modification of the operating parameter of the vehicle comprises modifying at least one of acceleration, braking, window position, heating settings, cooling settings, entertainment system parameters, seat positioning, routing, or communication settings of the vehicle.

33 . The method of claim 31 , wherein causing the modification of the operating parameter of the vehicle comprises causing the operating parameter of the vehicle to be modified directly, indirectly, or both.

34 . The method of claim 31 , further comprising:

detecting presence of an occupant within the vehicle by detecting a signal from a wearable device comprising a sensor being worn by the occupant.

35 . The method of claim 34 , further comprising:

causing data to be stored in association with a profile associated with the occupant of the vehicle, wherein the data is indicative of a physiological parameter measurement of the occupant.

36 . The method of claim 31 , wherein the identifying the historical operating parameters of the at least one other vehicle at the geographic location comprises:

using a trained machine learning model to detect correlations between the historical physiological data of the at least one occupant of the at least one other vehicle at the geographic location and the historical operating parameters of the at least one other vehicle at the geographic location.

37 . The method of claim 31 , further comprising determining, using the processing circuitry, current operating parameter status information of the vehicle, and wherein the causing modification of the operating parameter of the vehicle at the geographic location is further based on the current operating parameter status information of the vehicle.

38 . The method of claim 31 , wherein the historical operating parameters indicate that the at least one other vehicle at the geographic location performed braking and acceleration at the geographic location when the physiological discomfort was being experienced by the at least one occupant of the at least one other vehicle at the geographic location, and the modification of the operating parameter of the vehicle comprises modifying at least one of speed, acceleration, or braking of the vehicle based on the indication in the historical operating parameters that the at least one other vehicle at the geographic location performed braking and acceleration at the geographic location when the physiological discomfort was being experienced by the at least one occupant of the at least one other vehicle at the geographic location.

39 . The method of claim 31 , wherein the causing the modification of the operating parameter of the vehicle at the geographic location is further based on receiving, from at least a sensor operatively coupled to an occupant of the vehicle, physiological data of the occupant.

40 . The method of claim 39 , wherein the causing the modification of the operating parameter of the vehicle at the geographic location is further based on comparing the physiological data of the occupant to the historical physiological data.

41 . A system comprising:

control circuitry configured to:

determine a geographic location of a vehicle;

processing circuitry configured to:

retrieve historical physiological data of at least one occupant of at least one other vehicle when the at least one vehicle was at the geographic location, wherein the historical physiological data indicates that the at least one occupant experienced physiological discomfort;

identify historical operating parameters of the at least one other vehicle at the geographic location when the historical physiological data of the at least one occupant of the at least one other vehicle at the geographic location was collected; and

based at least in part on determining that the vehicle is approaching the geographic location or is at the geographic location, cause modification of an operating parameter of the vehicle, based at least in part on the historical operating parameters of the at least one other vehicle at the geographic location.

42 . The system of claim 41 , wherein the processing circuitry is further configured to cause the modification of the operating parameter of the vehicle by modifying at least one of acceleration, braking, window position, heating settings, cooling settings, entertainment system parameters, seat positioning, routing, or communication settings of the vehicle.

43 . The system of claim 41 , wherein the processing circuitry is further configured to cause the modification of the operating parameter of the vehicle by causing the operating parameter of the vehicle to be modified directly, indirectly, or both.

44 . The system of claim 41 , wherein the processing circuitry is further configured to:

detect presence of an occupant within the vehicle by detecting a signal from a wearable device comprising a sensor being worn by the occupant.

45 . The system of claim 44 , wherein the processing circuitry is further configured to:

cause data to be stored in association with a profile associated with the occupant of the vehicle, wherein the data is indicative of a physiological parameter measurement of the occupant.

46 . The system of claim 41 , wherein the processing circuitry is configured to identify the historical operating parameters of the at least one other vehicle at the geographic location by:

using a trained machine learning model to detect correlations between the historical physiological data of the at least one occupant of the at least one other vehicle at the geographic location and the historical operating parameters of the at least one other vehicle at the geographic location.

47 . The system of claim 41 , wherein the processing circuitry is further configured to determine current operating parameter status information of the vehicle, and wherein the processing circuitry is further configured to cause the modification of the operating parameter of the vehicle at the geographic location based on the current operating parameter status information of the vehicle.

48 . The system of claim 41 , wherein the historical operating parameters indicate that the at least one other vehicle at the geographic location performed braking and acceleration at the geographic location when the physiological discomfort was being experienced by the at least one occupant of the at least one other vehicle at the geographic location, and the processing circuitry is further configured to cause the modification of the operating parameter of the vehicle by modifying at least one of speed, acceleration, or braking of the vehicle based on the indication in the historical operating parameters that the at least one other vehicle at the geographic location performed braking and acceleration at the geographic location when the physiological discomfort was being experienced by the at least one occupant of the at least one other vehicle at the geographic location.
