Conditional Network Access Management
An AMF receives, from a wireless device, a parameter indicating that the wireless device is capable to support an enhanced steering of roaming (SOR) for selecting a standalone non-public network (SNPN), wherein in the enhanced SOR, the wireless device checks whether one or more validity conditions for accessing one or more SNPN are met. The AMF sends, to the wireless device, network access information comprising an identifier of a first SNPN and a validity condition for determining whether the wireless device is allowed to access the first SNPN.
1 . A wireless device comprising one or more processors and memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to:
send, to an access and mobility management function (AMF) of a public land mobile network (PLMN), a non-access stratum (NAS) message comprising a parameter indicating that the wireless device is capable to support an enhanced steering of roaming (SOR) for selecting a standalone non-public network (SNPN), wherein in the enhanced SOR, the wireless device checks whether one or more validity conditions for accessing one or more SNPN are met;
receive, from the AMF, network access information comprising:
an identifier of a first SNPN; and
a validity condition for determining whether the wireless device is allowed to access the first SNPN; and
send, to the first SNPN and upon the validity condition being met, a registration request message.
2 . The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the parameter indicates that the wireless device supports handling the network access information.
3 . The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the NAS message comprises at least one of:
an identity of the wireless device;
one or more identifiers of one or more requested network slices; or
an identity of the first SNPN.
4 . The wireless device of claim 3 , wherein the wireless device receives the network access information in response to sending the NAS message.
5 . The wireless device of claim 3 , wherein the NAS message comprises a first registration request message.
6 . The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the validity condition comprises a time period condition during which the wireless device is allowed to access the first SNPN.
7 . The wireless device of claim 6 , wherein the time period condition comprises at least one of:
a start time from when the wireless device is allowed to access the first SNPN;
an end time from when the wireless device is not allowed to access the first SNPN; or
a time duration during which the wireless device is allowed to access the first SNPN.
8 . The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the validity condition comprises a location condition.
9 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the location condition comprises one or more tracking areas.
10 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the location condition comprises at least one of:
one or more geographical coordinates;
one or more cell identities; or
one or more areas.
11 . An access and mobility management function (AMF) comprising one or more processors and memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the AMF to:
receive, from a wireless device, a non-access stratum (NAS) message comprising a parameter indicating that the wireless device is capable to support an enhanced steering of roaming (SOR) for selecting a standalone non-public network (SNPN), wherein in the enhanced SOR, the wireless device checks whether one or more validity conditions for accessing one or more SNPN are met; and
send, to the wireless device, network access information comprising:
an identifier of a first SNPN; and
a validity condition for determining whether the wireless device is allowed to access the first SNPN.
12 . The AMF of claim 11 , wherein the parameter indicates that the wireless device supports handling the network access information.
13 . The AMF of claim 11 , wherein the NAS message comprises at least one of:
an identity of the wireless device;
one or more identifiers of one or more requested network slices; or
an identity of the first SNPN.
14 . The AMF of claim 13 , wherein the wireless device receives the network access information in response to sending the NAS message.
15 . The AMF of claim 13 , wherein the NAS message comprises a first registration request message.
16 . The AMF of claim 11 , wherein the network access information comprises a time period condition during which the wireless device is allowed to access the first SNPN.
17 . The AMF of claim 16 , wherein the time period condition comprises at least one of:
a start time from when the wireless device is allowed to access the first SNPN;
an end time from when the wireless device is not allowed to access the first SNPN; or
a time duration during which the wireless device is allowed to access the first SNPN.
18 . The AMF of claim 11 , wherein the validity condition comprises a location condition.
19 . The AMF of claim 18 , wherein the location condition comprises one or more tracking areas.
20 . The AMF of claim 18 , wherein the location condition comprises at least one of:
one or more geographical coordinates;
one or more cell identities; or
one or more areas.
