Spinal Implant And Methods Of Use Thereof
An assembly includes a first arm assembly with a first base portion having a fixation channel. The assembly also includes a second arm assembly selectively adjustable with respect to the first arm assembly, and the second arm assembly has a second base portion. The assembly also includes a bone anchor and a band extending in the fixation channel.
1 . An assembly comprising:
a first arm assembly including a first base portion defining a fixation channel;
a second arm assembly selectively adjustable with respect to the first arm assembly, the second arm assembly including a second base portion;
a bone anchor; and
a band extending through the fixation channel.
2 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the band is positioned around the bone anchor.
3 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the band is positioned around a spinal rod.
4 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the band is positioned around a portion of a patient.
5 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the bone anchor comprises a rod and pedicle screw system.
6 . The assembly of claim 1 , further comprising a band clamp including a bore configured to receive end portions of the band.
7 . The assembly of claim 6 , wherein the band clamp further includes a screw opening configured to threadably receive a screw.
8 . The assembly of claim 7 , wherein the screw opening is orthogonal to the bore.
9 . The assembly of claim 6 , wherein the band is clamped with an anvil disposed in the bore.
10 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the fixation channel is a first fixation channel, and wherein the second base portion defines a second fixation channel.
11 . The assembly of claim 10 , wherein the band is a first band and the bone anchor is a first bone anchor, and further comprising a second band extending through the second fixation channel and around a second bone anchor.
12 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the first base portion comprises an extension member and an engagement housing, the extension member being monolithic with the first base portion.
13 . The assembly of claim 10 , wherein the second base portion is monolithic with an elongate member configured to be selectively received in the engagement housing.
14 . The assembly of claim 10 , further comprising a fastener configured to be received in the engagement housing to secure the elongate member thereto.
15 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the first base portion comprises a first hook portion, the first hook portion being monolithic with the first base portion.
16 . The assembly of claim 15 , wherein the second base portion comprises a second hook portion, the first hook portion and second hook portion are configured to engage an anatomical structure of the vertebra. 17 The assembly of claim 15 , wherein the first hook portion extend longitudinally along the extension member.
18 . An assembly comprising:
a first arm assembly including a first base portion defining a fixation channel;
a second arm assembly selectively adjustable with respect to the first arm assembly, the second arm assembly including a second base portion;
a rod; and
a band extending through the fixation channel and around the rod.
19 . The assembly of claim 18 , wherein the band is compressed with a screw configured to clamp opposite ends of the band together.
20 . An assembly comprising:
a first arm assembly including a first base portion defining a fixation channel;
a second arm assembly selectively adjustable with respect to the first arm assembly, the second arm assembly including a second base portion;
a rod;
a band extending through the fixation channel and around the rod, the band including two end portions;
a band clamp having a bore, a screw opening orthogonal to the bore, and an anvil disposed within the bore, the band received within the bore; and
a screw threadedly engaged with the screw opening, the screw imparting a force on the anvil, the anvil being in contact with at least one of the end portions of the band.
