SHOCK WAVE TREATMENT BALLOON CATHETER
A shock wave catheter apparatus fits within a blood vessel wall and includes multiple shock wave generators that produce non-focused shock waves within a balloon that inflates around the catheter and the catheter extends beyond a distal end of the balloon.
1 . A shock wave catheter apparatus comprising:
a catheter sized to fit within a wall of a blood vessel;
a liquid inlet coupled to a non-perforated balloon, wherein the balloon is inflatable around the catheter and the catheter extends beyond a distal end of the balloon; and
a plurality of shock wave generators coupled to the catheter and positioned within the balloon to produce non-focused shock waves.
2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of shock wave generators includes a shock wave generator with a pair of electrodes.
3 . The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the plurality of shock wave generators is configured to be connected to a controller including software that operates the shock wave generators.
4 . The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein all the plurality of shock wave generators are electrohydraulic shock wave generators.
5 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein all the plurality of shock wave generators are electrohydraulic shock wave generators.
6 . The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein all the plurality of shock wave generators are electrohydraulic shock wave generators.
7 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of shock wave generators is configured to be connected to a controller including software that operates the shock wave generators.
8 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the catheter includes one or more radiopaque markers adjacent one or more ends of the balloon.
9 . The apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the catheter includes one or more radiopaque markers adjacent one or more ends of the balloon.
10 . The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the catheter includes one or more radiopaque markers adjacent one or more ends of the balloon.
11 . The apparatus of claim 4 , wherein the catheter includes one or more radiopaque markers adjacent one or more ends of the balloon.
12 . A shock wave catheter apparatus comprising:
a catheter sized to fit within a wall of a blood vessel;
a non-perforated balloon, wherein the balloon is inflatable around the catheter and at least a portion of the catheter extends distally beyond a sealed end of the balloon; and
a plurality of shock wave generators wherein each shock wave generator is coupled to the catheter and positioned within the balloon to produce non-focused shock waves.
13 . The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein at least one shock wave generator of the plurality of shock wave generators includes a pair of electrodes.
14 . The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the plurality of shock wave generators is configured to be connected to a controller including software that operates the plurality of shock wave generators.
15 . The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein each shock wave generator of the plurality of shock wave generators is configured to be connected to a controller including software that operates the plurality of shock wave generators.
16 . The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein each shock wave generator of the plurality of shock wave generators is an electrohydraulic shock wave generator.
17 . The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein each shock wave generator of the plurality of shock wave generators is an electrohydraulic shock wave generator.
18 . The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the plurality of shock wave generators is positioned within an inner construction of the catheter that is within the balloon.
19 . The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the plurality of shock wave generators is positioned within an inner construction of the catheter that is within the balloon.
20 . The apparatus of claim 14 , wherein the plurality of shock wave generators is positioned within an inner construction of the catheter that is within the balloon.
21 . The apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the plurality of shock wave generators is positioned within an inner construction of the catheter that is within the balloon.
22 . The apparatus of claim 16 , wherein the plurality of shock wave generators is positioned within an inner construction of the catheter that is within the balloon.
23 . The apparatus of claim 17 , wherein the plurality of shock wave generators is positioned within an inner construction of the catheter that is within the balloon.
24 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of shock wave generators is positioned within an inner construction of the catheter that is within the balloon.
25 . The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the plurality of shock wave generators is positioned within an inner construction of the catheter that is within the balloon.
26 . The apparatus of claim 4 , wherein the plurality of shock wave generators is positioned within an inner construction of the catheter that is within the balloon.
27 . The apparatus of claim 5 , wherein the plurality of shock wave generators is positioned within an inner construction of the catheter that is within the balloon.
28 . The apparatus of claim 6 , wherein the plurality of shock wave generators is positioned within an inner construction of the catheter that is within the balloon.
29 . The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the plurality of shock wave generators is positioned within an inner construction of the catheter that is within the balloon.
30 . The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the plurality of shock wave generators is positioned within an inner construction of the catheter that is within the balloon.
