Abstract

A mounting system capable of mounting objects to support structures. The mounting system includes a wall mount including a display bracket configured to hold the object, a fixed support bracket coupleable to a vertical support structure, and a linkage assembly. The linkage assembly has a low-profile stowed configuration in which the object is held in a raised position close to the support structure. Tilt adjustment mechanisms are used to adjust the tilt of the display bracket.

Claims (36)

1. A mounting apparatus comprising:

a mount assembly configured to carry an electronic display, the mount assembly including

a display bracket;

a fixed support bracket; and

a linkage assembly rotatably coupled to the display bracket and the fixed support bracket, the linkage assembly including links that cooperate to permit movement of the linkage assembly between

a raised configuration for holding the display bracket at a raised position, and

a lowered configuration for holding the display bracket at a lowered position;

a switch assembly coupled to the linkage assembly, wherein the switch assembly has an actuatable member configured to move into contact with a component of the mount assembly when the display bracket is near to or at the raised position; and

a motorized actuator coupled to the mount assembly, wherein the motorized actuator stops moving the linkage assembly based on the actuatable member contacting the component.

2. The mounting apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the motorized actuator stops moving the linkage assembly when the actuatable member is in a depressed position.

3. The mounting apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the actuatable member is a plunger protruding from an upper link of the linkage assembly.

4. The mounting apparatus of claim 1 , wherein one of the links is rotatable about an axis of rotation relative to the fixed support bracket, wherein when the mount assembly is coupled to a vertical wall, the actuatable member is positioned higher than the axis of rotation when the linkage assembly is in the raised configuration and is positioned lower than the axis of rotation when the linkage assembly is in the lowered configuration.

5. The mounting apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising an adjustable switch element movable away from or toward the actuatable member to adjust a depressed position of the actuatable member, thereby adjusting the raised position of the display bracket.

6. The mounting apparatus of claim 5 , wherein the adjustable switch element includes a bolt.

7. The mounting apparatus of claim 5 , wherein the adjustable switch element is carried by the linkage assembly.

8. The mounting apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the actuatable member is configured to be at an extended position when brought into contact with the component when the display bracket is near the raised position, and wherein the actuatable member is configured to be at a depressed position when the display bracket reaches the raised position.

9. The mounting apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the actuatable member is rotated away from the component when the display bracket is moved toward the lowered position.

10. The mounting apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the component is the fixed support bracket.

11. The mounting apparatus of claim 1 , further including a positioner element including a member movably coupled to the mount assembly, wherein the member moves into contact with a portion of the linkage assembly when the linkage assembly is moved toward the raised configuration, and wherein the member moves away from the portion of the linkage assembly when the motorized actuator moves the linkage assembly toward the lowered configuration.

12. The mounting apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the member includes a head and the positioner element includes a base fixedly coupled to a portion of the mount assembly, wherein the member is rotatably coupled to the base to move the head of the positioner element relative to the linkage assembly.

13. A mounting apparatus comprising:

a mount assembly configured to carry an electronic display, the mount assembly including

a display bracket;

a fixed support bracket; and

a linkage assembly rotatably coupled to the display bracket and the fixed support bracket, the linkage assembly is configured to move between

a raised configuration for holding the display bracket at a raised position, and

a lowered configuration for holding the display bracket at a lowered position;

a switch assembly configured to move into contact with a component of the mount assembly to position the display bracket at the raised position; and

a motorized actuator coupled to the mount assembly, wherein the motorized actuator positions the display bracket at the raised position based on output from the switch assembly.

14. The mounting apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the motorized actuator stops moving the linkage assembly in response to an actuatable member of the switch assembly moving to a depressed position.

15. The mounting apparatus of claim 14 , wherein the actuatable member is a plunger protruding from an upper link of the linkage assembly.

16. The mounting apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the linkage assembly has a link rotatable about an axis of rotation relative to the fixed support bracket, wherein when the mount assembly is coupled to a vertical wall, the switch assembly is positioned higher than the axis of rotation when the linkage assembly is in the raised configuration and is positioned lower than the axis of rotation when the linkage assembly is in the lowered configuration.

17. The mounting apparatus of claim 13 , further comprising an adjustable switch element movable away from or toward the switch assembly to adjust a depressed position of an actuatable member of the switch assembly, thereby adjusting the raised position of the display bracket.

18. The mounting apparatus of claim 17 , wherein the adjustable switch element includes a bolt.

19. The mounting apparatus of claim 17 , wherein the adjustable switch element is carried by the linkage assembly.

20. The mounting apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the switch assembly includes an actuatable member configured to be at an extended position when brought into contact with the component when the display bracket is near the raised position, and wherein the actuatable member is configured to be at a depressed position when the display bracket reaches the raised position.
