Abstract

Systems relating to a mechanical closure or locking device configured to allow for quick connect and disconnect. The systems can be used in conjunction with compression garments. The systems can include a buckle that couples to an anchor. The buckle and anchor can include complementary features that can mechanically interface to secure the buckle and anchor together. The buckle and anchor can include complementary magnetic elements to secure the buckle and anchor together. The buckle can be manipulated to tighten or loosen an adjustable strap.

Claims (25)

1 . (canceled)

2 . A buckle system comprising:

an anchor comprising a housing with a first magnetic element, the housing comprising a channel; and

a buckle comprising a second magnetic element and a frame with two spaced apart portions, the second magnetic element spanning between the two spaced apart portions and configured to be received by the channel of the housing such that the housing is disposed between the two spaced apart portions.

3 . The buckle system of claim 2 , wherein the second magnetic element comprises a cylindrical shape to facilitate rotation of the second magnetic element in the channel.

4 . The buckle system of claim 2 , wherein the channel comprises a rounded shape to facilitate rotation of the second magnetic element in the channel.

5 . The buckle system of claim 2 , wherein the first magnetic element is configured to retain the second magnetic element in the channel with magnetic attraction force.

6 . The buckle system of claim 2 , wherein the first magnetic element is a rod.

7 . The buckle system of claim 2 , wherein the anchor comprises a base, and wherein the housing is configured to protrude vertically upward from the base.

8 . The buckle system of claim 7 , wherein the base is configured to be coupled to a compression device configured to be wrapped around a body part.

9 . The buckle system of claim 2 , wherein the first magnetic element is disposed within a cavity of the housing.

10 . The buckle system of claim 9 , wherein the housing separates the first magnetic element and the second magnetic element with the first magnetic element received by the channel.

11 . The buckle system of claim 9 , wherein the first magnetic element is surrounded by the housing.

12 . The buckle system of claim 2 , wherein the buckle comprises a crossbar spanning an interior portion of the frame, the crossbar configured to be coupled to a strap.

13 . The buckle system of claim 12 , wherein the frame comprises two spaced apart lateral segments, and wherein the crossbar spans between the two spaced apart lateral segments.

14 . The buckle system of claim 13 , wherein the two spaced apart portions are spaced apart from each other a first distance and the two spaced apart lateral segments are spaced apart from each other a second distance, the second distance being larger than the first distance.

15 . A buckle system comprising:

an anchor comprising a base and a housing protruding vertically from the base, the housing comprising a first magnetic element and a channel; and

a buckle comprising a second magnetic element and a frame with two spaced apart portions, the second magnetic element spanning between the two spaced apart portions and configured to be received by the channel of the housing such that the housing is disposed between the two spaced apart portions.

16 . The buckle system of claim 15 , wherein the second magnetic element comprises a cylindrical shape to facilitate rotation of the second magnetic element in the channel.

17 . The buckle system of claim 15 , wherein the channel comprises a rounded shape to facilitate rotation of the second magnetic element in the channel.

18 . The buckle system of claim 15 , wherein the first magnetic element is configured to retain the second magnetic element in the channel with magnetic attraction force.

19 . The buckle system of claim 15 , wherein the first magnetic element is disposed within a cavity of the housing.

20 . The buckle system of claim 19 , wherein the housing separates the first magnetic element and the second magnetic element with the first magnetic element received by the channel.

21 . The buckle system of claim 15 , wherein the frame comprises two spaced apart lateral segments, wherein the buckle comprises a crossbar configured to be coupled to a strap that spans between the two spaced apart lateral segments, and wherein the two spaced apart portions are spaced apart from each other a first distance and the two spaced apart lateral segments are spaced apart from each other a second distance, the second distance being larger than the first distance.
