SUBSTRATE POSITIONING FOR DEPOSITION MACHINE
A deposition device is described. The deposition device has a substrate support and a laser imaging system disposed to image a portion of a substrate positioned on the substrate support. The laser imaging system comprises a laser source and an imaging unit, and is coupled to a deposition assembly disposed across the substrate support.
1 . A deposition device, comprising:
a substrate support; and
a deposition assembly disposed across the substrate support, the deposition assembly comprising a dispenser assembly and a laser imaging system, wherein the laser imaging system comprises a fiber-coupled laser configured to direct laser radiation toward the substrate support and an imaging unit disposed to capture reflected laser radiation.
2 . The deposition device of claim 1 , wherein the dispenser assembly houses the laser imaging system.
3 . The deposition device of claim 1 , wherein the imaging unit has a sensitivity profile that is matched to the laser radiation emitted by the laser.
4 . The deposition device of claim 1 , wherein the fiber-coupled laser comprises a laser diode.
5 . The deposition device of claim 1 , wherein the fiber-coupled laser is a pulsed laser that has a pulse duration of 1 μsec or less.

The deposition device of claim 1 , further comprising a controller configured to move a substrate positioned on the substrate support relative to the laser imaging system, activate the imaging the unit for an imaging time, and activate the laser source for an active time, wherein the active time is encompassed by the imaging time.
7 . The deposition device of claim 1 , wherein the laser source has an emission wavelength of 650 nm.
8 . The deposition device of claim 1 , further comprising an optical assembly disposed to capture the reflected laser radiation and direct the reflected laser radiation to the imaging unit.
9 . The deposition device of claim 8 , wherein the fiber of the fiber-coupled laser is disposed within the optical assembly.
10 . A deposition device, comprising:
a substrate support; and
a deposition assembly disposed across the substrate support, the deposition assembly comprising a dispenser assembly and a laser imaging system coupled to the dispenser assembly, wherein the laser imaging system comprises a fiber-coupled laser configured to direct laser radiation toward the substrate support and an imaging unit disposed to capture reflected laser radiation.
11 . The deposition device of claim 10 , wherein the dispenser assembly houses the laser imaging system.
12 . The deposition device of claim 10 , wherein the fiber-coupled laser comprises a laser diode.
13 . The deposition device of claim 10 , wherein the fiber-coupled laser comprises a laser source having an emission wavelength of 650 nm or 800 nm.
14 . The deposition device of claim 10 , further comprising a controller configured to move a substrate positioned on the substrate support relative to the laser imaging system, activate the imaging the unit for an imaging time, and activate the laser source for an active time, wherein the active time is encompassed by the imaging time.
15 . The deposition device of claim 10 , wherein the deposition assembly is movably coupled to a support that extends across the substrate support.
16 . The deposition device of claim 10 , further comprising an optical assembly disposed to capture the reflected laser radiation and direct the reflected laser radiation to the imaging unit.
17 . The deposition device of claim 16 , wherein the optical fiber of the fiber-coupled laser is within the optical assembly.
18 . A deposition device, comprising:
a substrate support; and
a deposition assembly disposed across the substrate support, the deposition assembly comprising a dispenser assembly and a laser imaging system coupled to the dispenser assembly, wherein the laser imaging system comprises a fiber-coupled laser configured to direct laser radiation toward the substrate support and an imaging unit disposed to capture reflected laser radiation, the fiber-coupled laser comprising a laser source and an optical fiber disposed within an optical assembly.
19 . The deposition device of claim 18 , wherein the laser source has an emission wavelength of 650 nm or 800nm.
20 . The deposition device of claim 18 , wherein the optical assembly is disposed to capture the reflected laser radiation and direct the reflected laser radiation to the imaging unit.
