81 . The nucleotide analogue of claim 80 , wherein:
a) X 1 is hydrogen, and X 2 is —N 3 ;
b) X 1 is halogen, and X 2 is hydrogen;
c) X 1 is halogen, and X 2 is halogen;
d) X 1 is halogen, and X 2 is —CN;
e) X 1 is halogen, and X 2 is —N 3 ;
f) X 1 is —CN, and X 2 is —N 3 ; or
g) X 1 is —N 3 , and X 2 is —N 3 .
82 . The nucleotide analogue of claim 80 , wherein:
a) X 1 is hydrogen, and X 2 is —F;
b) X 1 is —F, and X 2 is —F;
c) X 1 is —F, and X 2 is —CN; or
d) X 1 is —F, and X 2 is —N 3 .
83 . The nucleotide analogue of claim 80 , wherein X 1 and X 2 are independently —F, —Cl, —Br, or —I.

The nucleotide analogue of claim 80 , wherein R 4 is substituted or unsubstituted C 1 -C 6 alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted 2 to 6 membered heteroalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted C 3 -C 6 cycloalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted 3 to 6 membered heterocycloalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted phenyl, or substituted or unsubstituted 5 to 6 membered heteroaryl.

a polymerase;
a primer; and
a nucleotide analogue;
wherein said polymerase is bound to (i) the nucleotide analogue and (ii) the primer,
wherein said nucleotide analogue is bound to streptavidin via a first covalent linker, and
wherein said streptavidin is bound to a fluorophore via a second covalent linker.
