Abstract

A water bottle system for adding an additive, which may be flavoring, to the line of flow without contaminating the main reservoir. The system may include a water bottle with a lid feature that may maintain a flavor that may be infused into the water within the water bottle. The infusion of the additive may be adjusted by a user to have the desired concentration of additive to a user's liking. The additive cartridge may be reusable or disposable depending on a user's preference.

Claims (18)

1 .- 20 . (canceled)

21 . A method for configuring a system to provide an additive to a drinkable liquid, the method comprising:

disengaging an additive container from an assembly including a venturi system for providing the additive from the additive container to a flow of the drinkable liquid, the assembly being mountable to a vessel holding the drinkable liquid by a lid engagable with the vessel;

adding a quantity of the additive to the additive container while the additive container is disengaged from the venturi system; and

engaging the additive container with the venturi system so as to provide the additive in the additive container to the venturi system.

22 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising operating a dial of the assembly to adjust an amount of additive provided from the additive container to the venturi system.

23 . The method of claim 22 , wherein operating the dial includes adjusting a needle valve assembly of the venturi system.

24 . The method of claim 21 , wherein adding a quantity of additive includes providing a liquid additive into the additive container.

25 . The method of claim 21 , wherein disengaging the additive container includes removing the additive container from a body of the lid while the lid is engaged with the vessel.

26 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the venturi system includes a line of flow of the drinkable liquid from the vessel to a spout at a top of the lid.

27 . The method of claim 21 , wherein engaging the additive container includes positioning the additive container within an outer surface of the lid.

28 . The method of claim 21 , wherein engaging the additive container includes fluidly coupling a port of the additive container with an additive inlet of a mixing chamber of the venturi system.

29 . The method of claim 28 , wherein engaging the additive container includes fluidly coupling the port of the additive container with a flowpath for the drinkable liquid at a location downstream of a one-way valve configured to prevent additive from flowing into the vessel.

30 . The method of claim 21 , wherein disengaging the additive container includes removing the additive container from a housing positioned around at least a portion of the additive container.

31 . The method of claim 21 , wherein adding a quantity of additive includes providing the additive into the additive container while the additive container is disengaged from the lid and from the venturi system.

32 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising engaging the additive container with the lid.

33 . The method of claim 32 , wherein engaging the additive container with the lid includes positioning the additive container in a cavity defined by the lid.

34 . The method of claim 32 , further comprising causing the drinkable liquid to flow from the vessel through the venturi system, the flow of the drinkable liquid through the venturi system causing the additive to flow from the additive container into a mixing chamber of the venturi system to mix with the drinkable liquid.
