Abstract

Aspects disclosed herein generally relate to beverage systems. Particularly, beverage systems comprising a straw mechanism that is removably secured to a lid structure. The beverage systems in accordance with aspects herein have straw mechanisms that are selectively leak-proof.

Claims (29)

1 . A lid structure for a beverage system comprising:

a body portion; and

a straw mechanism that is removably secured to the body portion and can rotatably transition between a closed state and an open state.

2 . The lid structure of claim 1 , wherein the straw mechanism includes a spout portion comprising a flexible material.

3 . The lid structure of claim 1 , wherein the flexible material comprises silicone.

4 . The lid structure of claim 2 , wherein the straw mechanism includes a frame portion that presents an opening, the spout portion extending through the opening of the frame portion.

5 . The lid structure of claim 4 , wherein the frame portion is adapted to rotate relative to the body portion to rotatably transition the straw mechanism between the closed state and the open state.

6 . The lid structure of claim 4 , wherein frame portion presents at least one indicator that corresponds to a direction of the closed state or the open state.

7 . The lid structure of claim 1 , wherein the straw mechanism and the body portion are engaged to each other in a lock and key configuration to ensure that they always engage in a predetermined position.

8 . The lid structure of claim 1 , wherein the body portion includes a straw connection port on an underside thereof.

9 . The lid structure of claim 8 , wherein the straw connection port is adapted to removably secure a straw to the body portion.

10 . The lid structure of claim 9 , wherein the straw comprises stainless steel.

11 . A beverage system comprising:

a beverage containing base structure comprising a threaded portion; and

a lid structure comprising:

a body portion having threads adapted to couple with the threaded portion of the beverage containing base structure, and

a straw mechanism removably secured to the body portion, the straw mechanism being adapted to rotatably transition between an open state and a closed state.

12 . The beverage system of claim 11 , wherein the straw mechanism includes a spout portion comprising a flexible material.

13 . The beverage system of claim 11 , wherein the straw mechanism includes a frame portion adapted to rotate relative to the body portion and transition the straw mechanism between the closed state and the open state.

14 . The beverage system of claim 13 , the frame portion presents an opening through which the spout portion extends.

15 . The beverage system of claim 13 , wherein frame portion presents at least one indicator that corresponds to a direction of the closed state or the open state.

16 . The beverage system of claim 11 , wherein the straw mechanism and the body portion are adapted to be engaged to or disengaged from one another in a predetermined configuration.

17 . The beverage system of claim 11 , further comprising a detachable straw.

18 . The beverage system of claim 17 , wherein the straw is a stainless steel straw.

19 . The beverage system of claim 17 , wherein an underside of the body portion includes a straw connection port to which the detachable straw can be removably secured.

20 . A lid structure for a beverage container, comprising:

a body portion having threads that threadably secure the lid structure to the beverage container;

a spout portion comprising a flexible material; and

a frame portion having an opening through which the spout portion extends, the frame portion being adapted to rotate relative to the body portion to transition the spout portion between a closed state and an open state.
