Abstract

Intrasaccular devices and methods of implanting the devices in an aneurysm are described. The device includes an expandable body comprising a plurality of elongate filamentary elements each having a first and a second end. Each of the plurality of elongate filamentary elements extends from a first end of the device to a second end of the device and back to the first end of the device. The first and second ends of each of the plurality of elongate members are coupled at the first end of the device in a hub. The device may further include a defect spanning structure made of a mesh. The defect spanning structure may be located around a proximal portion of the expandable body, and may be disposed exteriorly to an outer surface of the expandable body

Claims (22)

- 30 . (canceled)

. An intrasaccular device, comprising:

an expandable body comprising a plurality of elongate filamentary elements each having a first and a second end, wherein each of the plurality of elongate filamentary elements extend from a first end of the device to a second end of the device; a first hub, wherein the first ends of each of the plurality of elongate members are coupled at the first end of the device; and a second hub, wherein the second ends of each of the plurality of elongate members are coupled at the second end of the device; and

a defect spanning structure comprising a mesh, wherein the defect spanning structure is located around a proximal portion of the expandable body, wherein the defect spanning portion is disposed exteriorly to an outer surface of the expandable body.

. The intrasaccular device of claim 31 , wherein the mesh is a braid of wires or filaments.

. The intrasaccular device of claim 31 , wherein the defect spanning structure comprises multiple layers.

. The intrasaccular device of claim 31 , wherein the defect spanning structure has an open second end and a substantially flattened first end.

. The intrasaccular device of claim 31 , wherein the plurality of elongate filamentary elements comprise a plurality of wires.

. The intrasaccular device of claim 31 , wherein the plurality of elongate filamentary elements comprise nickel titanium alloys.

. The intrasaccular device of claim 31 , further comprising a sealing member.

. The intrasaccular device of claim 37 , wherein the sealing member comprises a swellable polymer.

. The intrasaccular device of claim 37 , wherein the sealing member comprises a hydrogel.

. The intrasaccular device of claim 37 , wherein the sealing member comprises a foam.

. The intrasaccular device of claim 37 , wherein the sealing member is located near the proximal portion of the expandable body.

. The intrasaccular device of claim 37 , wherein the sealing member comprises an annular configuration.

. The intrasaccular device of claim 37 , wherein the sealing member is secured to the proximal portion of the expandable body.

. The intrasaccular device of claim 31 , wherein the intrasaccular device has an expanded state, wherein the defect spanning structure has a height in the expanded state and the expandable body has a height in the expanded state, and wherein the height of the defect spanning structure extends to a longitudinal position of about 10 percent to about 60 percent of the total height of the expandable body.

. The intrasaccular device of claim 31 , wherein the device has a low profile radially constrained state and a relaxed expanded state.

. The intrasaccular device of claim 31 , further comprising one or more fixation elements.

. The intrasaccular device of claim 46 , wherein the one or more fixation elements comprises a bioadhesive.

. The intrasaccular device of claim 46 , wherein the one or more fixation elements comprises a hook, barb, protrusion, pore, texturing, bioadhesives, or combinations thereof.

. The intrasaccular device of claim 46 , wherein the one or more fixation elements are located near the proximal portion of the expandable body.
