Abstract

A mounting clip for a battery housing is provided. The mounting clip includes a support structure including a recess extending partially into the support structure, wherein the recess is configured to receive a printed circuit board and the recess is configured to enable the printed circuit board to move within the recess to dampen loading.

Claims (27)

1 . A mounting clip for a battery housing, comprising:

a structure having a first side and a second side opposite the first side; and

a recess extending partially into the first side of the structure.

2 . The mounting clip of claim 1 , wherein the recess is configured to receive a printed circuit board and the recess is configured to enable the printed circuit board to move within the recess to dampen loading.

3 . The mounting clip of claim 1 , wherein the structure comprises an upper portion located above the recess and the upper portion tapers from adjacent the recess to a top portion of the structure.

4 . The mounting clip of claim 3 , wherein the upper portion comprises an inclined face located on a same side of structure as the recess.

5 . The mounting clip of claim 4 , wherein a shape of the upper portion enables the mounting clip to flex in a direction toward the second side of the structure.

6 . The mounting clip of claim 4 , wherein the inclined face being angled at an acute angle relative to a longitudinal axis of the structure.

7 . A battery module, comprising:

a support member; and

a plurality of mounting clips disposed on the support member, wherein the plurality of mounting clips is configured to couple a printed circuit board within a battery housing of the battery module, and each mounting clip of the plurality of mounting clips comprising:

a structure having a first side and a second side opposite the first side; and

a recess extending partially into the first side of the structure, the recess being configured to receive the printed circuit board and the recess being configured to enable the printed circuit board to move within the recess to dampen loading.

8 . The battery module of claim 7 , further comprising a plurality of protrusions extending from the support member and configured to guide the printed circuit board.

9 . A mounting clip for a battery housing, comprising:

a support structure comprising a recess extending partially into the support structure, the recess being configured to receive a printed circuit board and the recess being configured to enable the printed circuit board to move within the recess to dampen loading.

10 . The mounting clip of claim 9 , wherein the recess is sized to enable the printed circuit board to expand within the recess.

11 . The mounting clip of claim 9 , wherein the support structure comprises an upper portion located above the recess and the upper portion tapers from adjacent the recess to a top portion of the support structure.

12 . The mounting clip of claim 11 , wherein the upper portion comprises an inclined face configured to enable the printed circuit board to be moved from above the mounting clip into the recess, and the inclined face being located on a same side of the support structure as the recess.

The mounting clip of claim 11 , wherein the upper portion is located on a first side of the support structure and the upper portion is configured to flex in a direction toward a second side of the support structure opposite the first side to enable the printed circuit board to be moved from above the mounting clip into the recess.

14 . The mounting clip of claim 11 , wherein a shape of the upper portion enables the mounting clip to flex in a direction toward a second side of the support structure.

15 . The mounting clip of claim 12 , wherein the inclined face being angled at an acute angle relative to a longitudinal axis of the support structure.

16 . The mounting clip of claim 9 , wherein a portion of the support structure defining the recess comprises an upper region and a lower region, and the lower region extends further away from the support structure than the upper region.

17 . The mounting clip of claim 16 , wherein the portion defining the recess comprises a C-shaped cross section relative to a longitudinal axis of the support structure.

18 . The mounting clip of claim 17 , wherein at least a portion of the C-shaped cross section is curved.

19 . The mounting clip of claim 11 , further comprising a lower portion opposite the upper portion and the recess being centrally located between the upper portion and the lower portion.

20 . The mounting clip of claim 19 , wherein the lower portion includes a foot member.
