Abstract

Methods, apparatus and systems for enabling interference avoidance, for example from self and neighboring interference are disclosed. In one representative method implemented in a Wireless Transmit/Receive Unit (WTRU) using time-frequency (TF) resources in first and second directions, the method includes comprising TF resource muting or symbol muting, by the WTRU, one or more TF resources for communication in the first direction based on information associated with a communication in the second direction or subframe shortening, by the WTRU, by one or more TF resources for communication in the first direction based on information associated with a communication in the second direction.

Claims (30)

1 .- 136 . (canceled)

137 . A method implemented by a Wireless Transmit/Receive Unit (WTRU), the method comprising:

receiving first information indicating a pattern of one or more timeslots, wherein each of the timeslots is associated with one of a plurality of timeslot types, wherein the plurality of timeslot types comprise a first timeslot type for communication in a first communication direction, a second timeslot type for communication in a second communication direction, and a third timeslot type for communication in any of the first communication direction and the second communication direction;

receiving second information comprising a scheduling grant for an uplink (UL) transmission, wherein the second information indicates whether to perform resource element muting in timeslots associated with the third timeslot type; and

on condition that the uplink (UL) transmission includes a transmission in a timeslot associated with the third timeslot type and the second information indicates to perform resource element muting in the timeslots associated with the third timeslot type,

transmitting the uplink (UL) transmission, in the timeslot associated with the third timeslot type, using resource element muting.

138 . The method of claim 137 , wherein the first communication direction comprises an uplink (UL) communication direction and the second communication direction comprises a downlink (DL) communication direction.

139 . The method of claim 137 , wherein the third timeslot type comprises a full duplex (FD) timeslot type.

140 . The method of claim 137 , wherein resources for communication in the first communication direction and for communication in the second communication direction in a timeslot associated with the third timeslot type are in non-overlapping frequency bands or sets of resource blocks.

141 . The method of claim 137 , wherein the transmitting of the uplink (UL) transmission comprises performing resource element muting in one or more of the timeslots configured for resource element muting.

142 . The method of claim 137 , wherein the resource element muting comprises any of resource element puncturing and resource element rate-matching.

143 . The method of claim 137 , wherein the transmitting of the uplink (UL) transmission, in the timeslot associated with the third timeslot type, using resource element muting comprises transmitting the uplink (UL) transmission with zero power in resource elements that are muted.

144 . The method of claim 137 , wherein uplink (UL) demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) resource elements in the uplink (UL) transmission are not muted.

145 . The method of claim 137 , wherein the second information comprises any of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) transmission and downlink control information (DCI).

146 . The method of claim 137 , wherein the transmitting of the uplink (UL) transmission comprises transmitting the uplink (UL) transmission on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH).

147 . A Wireless Transmit/Receive Unit (WTRU), comprising:

circuitry, including any of a processor and transceiver, configured to

receive first information indicating a pattern of one or more timeslots, wherein each of the timeslots is associated with one of a plurality of timeslot types, wherein the plurality of timeslot types comprise a first timeslot type for communication in a first communication direction, a second timeslot type for communication in a second communication direction, and a third timeslot type for communication in any of the first communication direction and the second communication direction;

receive second information comprising a scheduling grant for an uplink (UL) transmission, wherein the second information indicates whether to perform resource element muting in timeslots associated with the third timeslot type; and

on condition that the uplink (UL) transmission includes a transmission in a timeslot associated with the third timeslot type and the second information indicates to perform resource element muting in the timeslots associated with the third timeslot type,

transmit the uplink (UL) transmission, in the timeslot associated with the third timeslot type, using resource element muting.

148 . The WTRU of claim 147 , wherein the first communication direction comprises an uplink (UL) communication direction and the second communication direction comprises a downlink (DL) communication direction.

149 . The WTRU of claim 147 , wherein the third timeslot type comprises a full duplex (FD) timeslot type.

150 . The WTRU of claim 147 , wherein resources for communication in the first communication direction and for communication in the second communication direction in a timeslot associated with the third timeslot type are in non-overlapping frequency bands or sets of resource blocks.

151 . The WTRU of claim 147 , configured to perform the resource element muting in one or more of the timeslots configured for resource element muting.

152 . The WTRU of claim 147 , wherein the resource element muting comprises any of resource element puncturing and resource element rate-matching.

153 . The WTRU of claim 147 , configured to transmit the uplink (UL) transmission with zero power in resource elements that are muted.

154 . The WTRU of claim 147 , wherein uplink (UL) demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) resource elements in the uplink (UL) transmission are not muted.

155 . The WTRU of claim 147 , wherein the second information comprises any of a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) transmission and downlink control information (DCI).

156 . The WTRU of claim 147 , configured to transmit the uplink (UL) transmission on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH).
