Abstract

Various implementations described herein are directed to a formwork system. In one implementation, the formwork system includes aluminum extrusions and aluminum castings. The aluminum castings and the aluminum extrusions can be assembled by being pressed and riveted together.

Claims (22)

1 . A clamp assembly, comprising:

a first member having a first base, a first planar portion which extends outwardly from the first base along a first axis, and a first outer portion which extends from first planar portion;

a second member having a second base, a second planar portion which extends outwardly from the second base parallel to the first axis and a second outer portion which extends from and away the second planar portion;

a release mechanism configured to transition the clamp assembly between a first position and a second position;

a connector clip attached to both the first base and the second base, the connector clip being configured to attach to an attachment;

wherein the clamp assembly, when in the first position, the first planar portion and the second planar portion are urged towards along a second axis,

wherein the clamp assembly, when in the second position, where the first planar portion and the second planar portion are urged away from each other along the second axis, and

wherein the first axis and the second axis are perpendicular to each other.

2 . The clamp assembly of claim 1 , the connector clip being permanently attached to both the first base and the second base while still permitting transition of the clamp assembly between the first position and the second position.

3 . The clamp assembly of claim 1 , the connector clip further comprising a rectangular member extending along the second axis and a third axis,

wherein the third axis is perpendicular to both the first axis and the second axis.

4 . The clamp of claim 3 , the connector clip further comprising a plurality of openings.

5 . The clamp of claim 4 , wherein a first portion of the openings are disposed above the first axis and the second axis.

6 . The clamps of claim 5 , wherein a second portion of the opening are disposed below the first axis and the second axis.

7 . The clamp of claim 6 , the first member configured to abut against a first flange of a first formwork panel, the first member.

8 . The clamp of claim 7 , the second member configured to abut against a second flange of a second formwork panel, the second member.

9 . The clamp assembly of claim 8 , wherein the first outer portion has a first end opposite the first base and where the first outer portion extends therefrom.

10 . The clamp assembly of claim 9 , wherein the second outer portion has a second end opposite the second base and where the second outer portion extends therefrom.

11 . The clamp assembly of claim 10 , wherein the first outer portion and the first planar portion form a first acute angle therebetween.

12 . The clamp assembly of claim 11 , wherein the second outer portion and the second planar portion form a second acute angle therebetween.

13 . The clamp assembly of claim 12 , the attachment being selected from the group consisting of: an alignment bar, a personal tie-off point, a pipe brace attachment, and a lifting bar.

14 . The clamp assembly of claim 11 , the release mechanism being a screw mechanism which engaged with a threaded portion on either or both of the first base and the second base.
