DISPLAY DEVICE
According to one embodiment, a semiconductor device includes an insulating substrate, a first metal layer on the insulating substrate, a first insulating layer on the insulating substrate and the first metal layer, a semiconductor layer on the first insulating layer, a second insulating layer on the semiconductor layer and the first insulating layer, a second metal layer on the second insulating layer, and a first electrode and a second electrode which are electrically connected to the semiconductor layer. The first metal layer overlaps the second metal layer. A third metal layer contacts a top surface of the second metal layer and a top surface of the first metal layer.

7 . A display device comprising:
an insulating substrate;
a first metal layer arranged on the insulating substrate;
a first insulating layer arranged on the first metal layer;
a second insulating layer arranged on the first insulating layer;
a second metal layer arranged on the second insulating layer;
a third insulating layer; and
a third metal layer on the third insulating layer; wherein
the first insulating layer covers the first metal layer,
the third insulating layer includes a first area that covers the second insulating layer and the second metal layer, and a second area that is in contact with the first insulating layer,
a contact hole penetrating the first insulating film and the third insulating film is arranged in the second area and overlaps the first metal layer and an edge of the second metal layer in plan view,
the third metal layer is arranged to overlap the contact hole and electrically connects the first metal layer and the second metal layer, and
the third metal layer directly contacts a top surface and a side surface of the second metal layer and a top surface of the first metal layer.
8 . The display device according to claim 7 , further comprising:
a thin-film transistor; and
a semiconductor layer arranged between the first insulation layer and the second insulating layer; wherein
the third insulating layer covering the thin-film transistor,
the first metal layer includes a lower gate electrode,
the second metal layer includes an upper gate electrode, and
the first metal layer and the second metal layer overlap the semiconductor layer in plan view.
9 . The display device according to claim 8 , wherein
the first insulating layer includes a lower gate insulating layer, and
the second insulating layer includes an upper gate insulating layer.
10 . The display device according to claim 8 , wherein
the thin-film transistor includes a first electrode layer and a second electrode layer that are electrically connected to the semiconductor layer, and
the first electrode layer and the second electrode layer contact a top or bottom surface of the semiconductor layer.
11 . The display device according to claim 10 , wherein
the first electrode layer, the second electrode layer, and the third metal layer are all formed of a same material.
