METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MULTICAST/BROADCAST COMMUNICATION
A User Equipment (UE) includes a receiver configured to receive a first message indicating Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) feedback is disabled. The receiver receives a wireless signal scrambled by a multicast Radio Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI) in a Radio Resource Control (RRC) state. A transport block is used for generating the wireless signal, wherein whether to monitor retransmission of the transport block in a first time window is related to the RRC state. When the wireless signal is received in an RRC inactive state, the retransmission of the transport block is monitored in the first time window, and when the wireless signal is received in an RRC state other than the RRC inactive state, the retransmission of the transport block is not monitored in the first time window. The first time window is a maximum duration for which a multicast HARQ retransmission may be recessived.
1 . A User Equipment (UE) comprising:
a receiver configured to receive a first message, the first message indicating that Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) feedback is disabled;
the receiver configured to receive a wireless signal in a Radio Resource Control (RRC) state, the wireless signal being scrambled by a multicast Radio Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI), and wherein the UE fails to decode the wireless signal,
wherein a transport block is used for generating the wireless signal, wherein whether to monitor retransmission of the transport block in a first time window is related to the RRC state,
wherein, when the wireless signal is received in an RRC inactive state, the retransmission of the transport block is monitored in the first time window, and when the wireless signal is received in an RRC state other than the RRC inactive state, the retransmission of the transport block is not monitored in the first time window, and
wherein the first time window is a maximum duration for which a multicast HARQ retransmission may be received.
2 . The UE according to claim 1 , wherein the monitoring the retransmission of the transport block in the first time window when the wireless signal is received in the RRC state, which is an RRC inactive state, is performed only when all conditions in a first condition set are satisfied,
wherein the condition set comprises a first condition, a channel quality of a first cell being worse than a first threshold is used for determining that the first condition is satisfied, and the cell is a serving cell of the UE.
3 . The UE according to claim 1 , further comprising:
a processor configured to start a first timer at a first time, the first time being not earlier than a receiving time of the wireless signal, wherein the processor is further configured to start a second timer in response to expiration of the first timer,
wherein the time window is time when the second timer is in an operating state, wherein the RRC state is the RRC inactive state, and wherein the first timer and the second timer are separately specific to an HARQ process corresponding to the wireless signal.
4 . The UE according to claim 3 , wherein the first time is a first symbol immediately after the wireless signal ends.
5 . The UE according to claim 3 , wherein the first time is a first symbol immediately after a Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) resource ends,
wherein the PUCCH resource is configured for HARQ feedback specific to the wireless signal.
6 . The UE according to claim 3 , wherein:
the receiver is further configured to receive a second message, the second message indicating a first expiration value and a second expiration value,
wherein the first expiration value is used for determining that the first timer expires; and the second expiration value is used for determining that the second timer expires.
7 . The UE according to claim 1 , wherein:
the receiver is further configured to receive a third message before receiving the first message, the third message indicating that the HARQ feedback is enabled,
wherein the first message indicates that the UE enters the RRC inactive state.
8 . A method performed by a User Equipment (UE) the method comprising:
receiving a first message, the first message indicating that Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) feedback is disabled;
receiving a wireless signal in a Radio Resource Control (RRC) state, the wireless signal being scrambled by a multicast Radio Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI), wherein the UE fails to decode the wireless signal,
wherein a transport block is used for generating the wireless signal, wherein whether to monitor retransmission of the transport block in a first time window is related to the RRC state,
wherein, when the wireless signal is received in an RRC inactive state, the retransmission of the transport block is monitored in the first time window, and when the wireless signal is received in an RRC state other than the RRC inactive state, the retransmission of the transport block is not monitored in the first time window, and
wherein the first time window is a maximum duration for which a multicast HARQ retransmission may be received.

11 . The method according to claim 8 , comprising:
starting a first timer at a first time, the first time being not earlier than a receiving time of the wireless signal; and
starting a second timer in response to expiration of the first timer,
wherein the time window is time when the second timer is in an operating state, wherein the RRC state is the RRC inactive state, and wherein the first timer and the second timer are separately specific to an HARQ process corresponding to the wireless signal.
12 . The method according to claim 8 , wherein the first time is a first symbol immediately after the wireless signal ends.
13 . The method according to claim 8 , wherein the first time is a first symbol immediately after a Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) resource ends,
wherein the PUCCH resource is configured for HARQ feedback specific to the wireless signal.
14 . The method according to claim 8 , further comprising:
receiving a second message, the second message indicating a first expiration value and a second expiration value,
wherein the first expiration value is used for determining that the first timer expires; and the second expiration value is used for determining that the second timer expires.
15 . The method according to claim 8 , further comprising:
receiving a third message before receiving the first message, the third message indicating that the HARQ feedback is enabled,
wherein the first message indicates that the UE enters the RRC inactive state.
