Abstract

According to one or more embodiments, an intelligent solar racking system is provided. The intelligent solar racking system includes a racking frame that receives and mechanically supports solar modules. The intelligent solar racking system includes sensors distributed throughout the racking frame. Each of the sensors detects and reports parameter data by generating output signals. The sensors include module sensors positioned to associate with each of the solar modules and detect a module presence as the parameter data for the solar modules. The intelligent solar racking system includes a computing device that receives, stores, and analyzes the output signals to determine and monitor operations of the intelligent solar racking system.

Claims (29)

1 . A solar racking system comprising:

a racking frame mechanically supporting at least two solar modules in a vertical order; and

at least two frame sensors vertically installed to associate position data with the at least two solar modules and to detect presence of the at least two solar modules, wherein the at least two frame sensors generate at least two output signals comprising the position data and the presence of the at least two solar modules.

2 . The solar racking system of claim 1 , further comprising:

a computing device that analyzes the output signals to determine and monitor operations of the solar racking system.

3 . The solar racking system of claim 1 , wherein the racking frame electrically connects the at least two solar modules upon top loading installation into the racking frame.

4 . The solar racking system of claim 1 , wherein the at least two solar modules comprise at least one transmissive solar module.

5 . The solar racking system of claim 1 , wherein each frame sensor detects a corresponding module position and presence within the racking frame by detecting a module sensor of each of the plurality of solar modules.

6 . The solar racking system of claim 1 , further comprising:

a plurality of sensors generating parameter data comprising environmental data or electrical data of the racking frame.

7 . The solar racking system of claim 1 , further comprising:

a plurality of sensors generating parameter data comprising voltage data, temperature data, current data, solar irradiation data, or wind data corresponding to the solar racking system.

8 . The solar racking system of claim 1 , further comprising:

at least one server collecting and analyzing the output signals of the at least two solar modules and parameter data of the solar racking system.

9 . The solar racking system of claim 1 , further comprising:

a distributed cloud based sub-system executing big data processing of the output signals of the at least two solar modules and parameter data of the solar racking system.

10 . A sensor system comprising:

at least two frame sensors vertically installed in a racking frame to associate position data with at least two solar modules and to detect presence of the at least two solar modules, wherein the at least two frame sensors generate at least two output signals comprising the position data and the presence of the at least two solar modules,

wherein the racking frame mechanically supports the at least two solar modules in a vertical order for detection by the at least two frame sensors.

11 . The sensor system of claim 10 , wherein the at least two frame sensors generate the at least two output signals to a computing device that analyzes the output signals to determine and monitor operations of the at least two solar modules.

12 . The sensor system of claim 10 , wherein the racking frame electrically connects the at least two solar modules upon top loading installation into the racking frame.

13 . The sensor system of claim 10 , wherein the at least two solar modules comprise at least one transmissive solar module.

14 . The sensor system of claim 10 , wherein each frame sensor detects a corresponding module position and presence within the racking frame by detecting a module sensor of each of the plurality of solar modules.

15 . The sensor system of claim 10 , further comprising:

a plurality of sensors generating parameter data comprising environmental data or electrical data of the racking frame.

16 . The sensor system of claim 10 , further comprising:

a plurality of sensors generating parameter data comprising voltage data, temperature data, current data, solar irradiation data, or wind data corresponding to the solar racking system.

17 . The sensor system of claim 10 , wherein the at least two frame sensors generate the at least two output signals to at least one server collecting and analyzing the output signals of the at least two solar modules.
