Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a head-worn apparatus, comprising: a frame adapted to be mounted to a head of a user; a light emitting system positioned within the frame to provide light to an eye of the user; a sound system adapted to provide audio to the user; a haptic system positioned within the frame to provide haptic feedback to the user; and a processor adapted to control the lighting system, audio system and haptic system in a coordinated pattern of light, sound and haptics that causes a mental-health therapeutic stimulus provided to the user, whereby the user experiences an improvement in mental performance based on the coordinated pattern.

Claims (43)

1 . A wearable device, comprising:

one or more sensors;

a lighting system adapted to provide a light signal to a user;

an audio system adapted to provide an audio signal to the user;

a haptic system adapted to provide a haptic signal to the user; and

one or more processors adapted to perform a method comprising:

presenting a stimulus, wherein the presenting the stimulus comprises one or more of:

presenting, to the user via the lighting system, a light signal comprising a component at a first frequency;

presenting, to the user via the audio system, an audio signal comprising a component at the first frequency; and

presenting, to the user via the haptic system, a haptic signal comprising a component at the first frequency,

wherein the stimulus is configured to cause changes in the user's brain by reinforcing a brain communication frequency;

determining, via the one or more sensors, a response of the user to the stimulus; and

adjusting a level of one or more of the light signal, the audio signal, and the haptic signal based on the response.

2 . The wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises determining, via the one or more sensors, an activity of the user.

3 . The wearable device of claim 2 , wherein the determining the activity of the user comprises determining whether the user is moving.

4 . The wearable device of claim 2 , further comprising a display, wherein:

the determining the activity of the user comprises determining that the user is stationary, and

the method further comprises in accordance with the determination that the user is stationary, reducing a brightness of the display.

5 . The wearable device of claim 2 , further comprising a display, wherein:

the determining the activity of the user comprises determining that the user is moving, and

the method further comprises in accordance with the determination that the user is moving, increasing a brightness of the display.

6 . The wearable device of claim 1 , wherein levels of one or more of the light signal, the audio signal, and the haptic signal are determined based on an input from the user.

7 . The wearable device of claim 6 , further comprising a display, wherein the display is further adapted to present a user interface associated with the input.

8 . The wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the stimulus is presented based on a time of a user's environment.

9 . The wearable device of claim 1 , further comprising a display, wherein the display is further adapted to present digital content concurrently with the stimulus presentation.

10 . The wearable device of claim 9 , wherein the digital content comprises a component at the first frequency.

11 . The wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the brain communication frequency includes 40 Hz.

12 . The wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the response is determined via an image of a user's eye, the image captured via the one or more sensors.

13 . The wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the response is determined via user movements, the user movements determined via the one or more sensors.

14 . The wearable device of claim 1 , further comprising a display, wherein a brightness of the display is adjusted based on one or more outputs of the one or more sensors.

15 . The wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the stimulus is presented based on a location of the user, the location determined via the one or more sensors.

16 . A method comprising:

presenting a stimulus, wherein the presenting the stimulus comprises one or more of:

presenting, to the user via a lighting system of a wearable device, a light signal comprising a component at a first frequency;

presenting, to the user via an audio system of the wearable device, an audio signal comprising a component at the first frequency; and

presenting, to the user via a haptic system of the wearable device, a haptic signal comprising a component at the first frequency,

wherein the stimulus is configured to cause changes in the user's brain by reinforcing a brain communication frequency;

determining, via one or more sensors of the wearable device, a response of the user to the stimulus; and

adjusting a level of one or more of the light signal, the audio signal, and the haptic signal based on the response.

17 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising determining, via the one or more sensors, an activity of the user.

18 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the response is determined via an image of a user's eye, the image captured via the one or more sensors.

19 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the response is determined via user movements, the user movements determined via the one or more sensors.

20 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising adjusting, based on one or more outputs of the one or more sensors, a brightness of a display of the wearable device.
