BATTERY MANAGEMENT INFRASTRUCTURE
Briefly, example architectures and/or circuit topologies are disclosed herein that may be implemented, in whole or in part, to facilitate and/or support one or more operations and/or techniques for battery management infrastructure, such as for use with one or more power converters, which may include, for example, one or more switched-capacitor power converters.
1 . A battery management system for use with a power converter, including:
(a) a first load switch configured to be coupled to a power delivery path;
(b) an initial charge pump having a first terminal coupled to the first load switch and configured to selectively receive a first voltage through the first load switch from the power delivery path, and a second terminal providing a second voltage different from the first voltage;
(c) a charging circuit including:
(1) a voltage terminal coupled to the second terminal of the initial charge pump;
(2) a system voltage terminal;
(3) a charging voltage terminal configured to be coupled to a battery; and
(4) at least one additional charge pump coupled to the charging circuit voltage terminal and configured to receive the second voltage and provide a third voltage different from the second voltage, the third voltage being applied to the system voltage terminal and, directly or indirectly, to the battery through the charging voltage terminal.
