SHARED EARPIECE COMMUNICATION
At least one exemplary embodiment is directed to earpiece devices that share information with other earpiece devices within range (e.g., GPS location and identity). For example. multiple users can send signals to each individual earpiece when in range or to a mobile audio communications device via a wireless connection with each earpiece.
1 . A first earpiece comprising:
a first ambient microphone configured to generate a first microphone signal;
a second ambient microphone configured to generate a second microphone signal;
an ear canal microphone configured to generate a third microphone signal;
a speaker;
a memory that stores instructions;
a logic circuit, where the logic circuit is configured to execute the instructions to perform operations comprising:
linking the first earpiece to a communicative device, wherein the communicative device includes a touchscreen, a second processor, wherein the touchscreen is referred to as the user interface, wherein the second processor is configured to execute second instructions to perform operations comprising:
retrieving a threshold value of range;
scanning for nearby earpieces within a distance that is less than or equal to the threshold value from the first earpiece. displaying the nearby earpieces on the touchscreen;
receiving a selection by the user using the user interface of a second earpiece to link the communicative device to;
linking the communication device to the second earpiece;
selecting audio content to play on the first earpiece;
sending the audio content to the first earpiece;
playing the audio content from the speaker of the first earpiece; and
sending the audio content to the second earpiece.
2 . The first earpiece according to claim 1 , wherein the step of selecting audio content is performed by selecting an audio content using the user interface.
3 . The first earpiece according to claim 1 , wherein whether the second earpiece is within the range is determined by comparing the second earpiece's GPS values with a first earpiece's GPS values and the threshold value.
4 . The first earpiece according to claim 1 wherein the threshold value of range is based upon a communication linking signal strength.
5 . The first earpiece according to claim 1 wherein the first earpiece is composed of a right earphone and a left earphone, wherein the right earphone is configured to fit within a right ear of the user, and the left earphone is configured to fit within a left ear of the user.
6 . The first earpiece according to claim 1 , wherein the communicative device is a phone.
7 . The first earpiece according to claim 1 , wherein the communicative device is a tablet.
8 . The first earpiece according to claim 1 , wherein the displaying the nearby earpieces is shown as a selectable list on the touchscreen.
9 . The first earpiece according to claim 1 , wherein linking the communication device to the second earpiece occurs after a signal is received from the second earpiece verifying ability to link to the communication device.
10 . The first earpiece according to claim 1 wherein selecting audio content is accomplished by showing a list of audio content on the touchscreen that can be selected by the user.
11 . The first earpiece according to claim 1 , wherein a second user selects to play the audio content on the second earpiece after the audio content has been sent to the second earpiece.
12 . The first earpiece according to claim 1 wherein the operations further comprise:
receiving a selection by the user using the user interface of a third earpiece to link the communicative device to.
13 . The first earpiece according to claim 12 wherein the operations further comprise:
linking the communication device to the third earpiece.
14 . The first earpiece according to claim 13 wherein the operations further comprise:
selecting audio content to play on the third earpiece.
15 . The first earpiece according to claim 14 wherein the operations further comprise:
sending the audio content to the first earpiece.
16 . The first earpiece according to claim 15 wherein the operations further comprise:
sending the audio content to the third earpiece.
17 . The first earpiece according to claim 16 , wherein a third user selects to play the audio content on the third earpiece after the audio content has been sent to the third earpiece.
