Abstract

A system comprising one or more processors configured to receive a query indicating one or more of filtering information, sorting information, or joining information and retrieve, from a first datastore, an intent graph for a network, wherein the intent graph comprises nodes representing components of the network and edges representing connections between the components. The one or more processors being further configured to select a subset of a plurality of network devices of the network based on the query and the intent graph retrieved from the first datastore and retrieve, from a second datastore, data received from the plurality of network devices of the network. The one or more processors being further configured to determine a response to the query based on the selected subset of the plurality of network devices and the data retrieved from the second datastore and output the response to the query.

Claims (51)

1 . A system comprising one or more processors configured to:

determine, based on an intent graph for a network, a network device supports a networking service indicated by a query;

determine that a datastore does not include data for the network device;

determine, based on the determination that the datastore does not include data for the network device and the determination that the network device supports the networking service indicated by the query, that the network device is present in the network and that the datastore is missing data for the network device;

determine a response to the query based on the determination that the network device is present in the network and that the datastore is missing data for the network device; and

output the response to the query.

2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the network device is a first network device and wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:

determine, based on the intent graph, a second network device supports the networking service indicated by the query; and

retrieve, from the datastore, information for the second network device,

wherein the one or more processors are configured to determine the response to the query further based on the information for the second network device.

3 . The system of claim 2 , wherein to determine the response to the query, the one or more processors are configured to convert the information for the second network device from a format of the datastore to a format specified in the query.

4 . The system of claim 3 ,

wherein the format specified in the query comprises a histogram format; and

wherein to determine the response to the query, the one or more processors are configured to convert the information for the second network device from the format of the datastore to the histogram format.

5 . The system of claim 2 , wherein to determine the response to the query, the one or more processors are configured to apply one or more functions to the information for the second network device to generate the response to the query.

6 . The system of claim 5 , wherein the one or more functions comprises one or more of an average function, an interquartile range function, or a linear regression function.

7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the query indicates filtering information, the filtering information comprising one or more of a vendor, a model, an interface, a system, or a time range, wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:

select, from a plurality of network devices of the network, the network device based on the filtering information.

8 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising a client device configured to output the query based on a user input.

9 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:

receive the query from a client device; and

output the response to the client device.

10 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to receive the query from a client device as a single application programming interface (API) request.

11 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:

determine, based on the intent graph, identification information assigned to the network device; and

determine, based on the identification information, that the datastore does not include data for the network device.

12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the identification information comprises a device serial number assigned to the network device.

13 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:

retrieve the intent graph from an intent graph database, wherein the intent graph comprises nodes representing components of the network and edges representing connections between the components.

14 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the datastore comprises one or more of a root cause identification (RCI) database, a computed telemetry database, a raw telemetry database, an intent-based analytics probe stage output database, an intent-based probe anomalies database, or a device-level anomaly database.

15 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the datastore comprises one or more of a cluster health telemetry database, an audit event log database, a blueprint application programming interface (API), or a mutation API database.

16 . A method comprising:

determining, by one or more processors and based on an intent graph for a network, a network device supports a networking service indicated by a query;

determining, by the one or more processors, that a datastore does not include data for the network device;

determining, by the one or more processors and based on the determination that the datastore does not include data for the network device and the determination that the network device supports the networking service indicated by the query, that the network device is present in the network and that the datastore is missing data for the network device;

determining, by the one or more processors, a response to the query based on the determination that the network device is present in the network and that the datastore is missing data for the network device; and

outputting, by the one or more processors, the response to the query.

17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the network device is a first network device, the method further comprising:

determining, by the one or more processors and based on the intent graph, a second network device supports the networking service indicated by the query; and

retrieving, by the one or more processors and from the datastore, information for the second network device,

wherein determining the response to the query is further based on the information for the second network device.

18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein determining the response to the query comprises converting the information for the second network device from a format of the datastore to a format specified in the query.

19 . The method of claim 18 ,

wherein the format specified in the query comprises a histogram format; and

wherein determining the response to the query comprises converting the information for the second network device from the format of the datastore to the histogram format.

20 . Non-transitory computer-readable storage media encoded with instructions for causing one or more programmable processors to:

determine, based on an intent graph for a network, a network device supports a networking service indicated by a query;

determine that a datastore does not include data for the network device;

determine, based on the determination that the datastore does not include data for the network device and the determination that the network device supports the networking service indicated by the query, that the network device is present in the network and that the datastore is missing data for the network device;

determine a response to the query based on the determination that the network device is present in the network and that the datastore is missing data for the network device; and

output the response to the query.
