Abstract

Wireless communication techniques using a power saving mode are described. A wireless device may be configured with a plurality of power saving configurations. A base station may transmit an indication of a power saving configuration in the plurality of power saving configurations. The wireless device may monitor a power saving channel based on the indicated power saving configuration.

Claims (66)

1 . A method comprising:

receiving, by a wireless device, a first indication to start monitoring a first downlink channel that corresponds to a first power saving configuration of a plurality of power saving configurations, wherein the plurality of power saving configurations correspond to a plurality of downlink channels; and

receiving, based on the first indication and via the first downlink channel, a second indication to monitor a second downlink channel.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving, based on monitoring the second downlink channel, downlink control information.

3 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving, based on monitoring the second downlink channel, a downlink assignment; and

receiving, based on the downlink assignment, downlink transport blocks.

4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving, based on monitoring the second downlink channel, an uplink grant; and

transmitting, based on the uplink grant, uplink transport blocks.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first power saving configuration comprises at least one of:

a periodicity of the first downlink channel,

a duration of the first downlink channel,

a number of resource blocks in a frequency domain,

a search space set, or

a control resource set.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of downlink channels comprises at least one of:

fewer search spaces than the second downlink channel; or

fewer control resource sets than the second downlink channel.

7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising, based on receiving the first indication, at least one of:

stopping a secondary cell deactivation timer of a cell associated with the first power saving configuration; or

stopping a bandwidth part inactivity timer of an active bandwidth part of the cell associated with the first power saving configuration.

8 . A wireless device comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, configure the wireless device to:

receive a first indication to start monitoring a first downlink channel that corresponds to a first power saving configuration of a plurality of power saving configurations, wherein the plurality of power saving configurations correspond to a plurality of downlink channels; and

receive, based on the first indication and via the first downlink channel, a second indication to monitor a second downlink channel.

9 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further configure the wireless device to receive, based on monitoring the second downlink channel, downlink control information.

10 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further configure the wireless device to:

receive, based on monitoring the second downlink channel, a downlink assignment; and

receive, based on the downlink assignment, downlink transport blocks.

11 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further configure the wireless device to:

receive, based on monitoring the second downlink channel, an uplink grant; and

transmit, based on the uplink grant, uplink transport blocks.

12 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the first power saving configuration comprises at least one of:

a periodicity of the first downlink channel,

a duration of the first downlink channel,

a number of resource blocks in a frequency domain,

a search space set, or

a control resource set.

13 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein each of the plurality of downlink channels comprises at least one of:

fewer search spaces than the second downlink channel; or

fewer control resource sets than the second downlink channel.

14 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further configure the wireless device to, based on the first indication, perform at least one of:

stopping a secondary cell deactivation timer of a cell associated with the first power saving configuration, or

stopping a bandwidth part inactivity timer of an active bandwidth part of the cell associated with the first power saving configuration.

15 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed, configure a wireless device to:

receive a first indication to start monitoring a first downlink channel that corresponds to a first power saving configuration of a plurality of power saving configurations, wherein the plurality of power saving configurations correspond to a plurality of downlink channels; and

receive, based on the first indication and via the first downlink channel, a second indication to monitor a second downlink channel.

16 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further configure the wireless device to receive, based on monitoring the second downlink channel, downlink control information.

17 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further configure the wireless device to:

receive, based on monitoring the second downlink channel, a downlink assignment; and

receive, based on the downlink assignment, downlink transport blocks.

18 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further configure the wireless device to:

receive, based on monitoring the second downlink channel, an uplink grant; and

transmit, based on the uplink grant, uplink transport blocks.

19 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the first power saving configuration comprises at least one of:

a periodicity of the first downlink channel,

a duration of the first downlink channel,

a number of resource blocks in a frequency domain,

a search space set, or

a control resource set.

20 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein each of the plurality of downlink channels comprises at least one of:

fewer search spaces than the second downlink channel; or

fewer control resource sets than the second downlink channel.
