Abstract

Control information in wireless communications may be associated with a reference signal. A first transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state of at least two TCI states may be used to receive a reference signal based on the reference signal overlapping in time with a downlink channel that is indicated with the at least two TCI states.

Claims (69)

1 . A wireless device comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to:

receive a medium access control control element (MAC CE) used to map transmission configuration indication (TCI) states to codepoints, wherein a TCI field in downlink control information (DCI) indicates a codepoint of the codepoints;

receive a first DCI scheduling a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), wherein:

a first time offset between a reception of the first DCI and a reception of the PDSCH is equal to, or greater than, a first threshold; and

a first codepoint, of a first TCI field in the first DCI, indicates two TCI states among the TCI states;

receive a second DCI comprising a channel state information (CSI) request field indicating a trigger state, wherein a second time offset between a last symbol of a PDCCH carrying the second DCI and a first symbol of an aperiodic CSI-RS resource associated with the trigger state is less than a second threshold; and

based on the aperiodic CSI-RS resource and the PDSCH overlapping in one or more symbols, applying a first reference signal indicated by a first TCI state of the two TCI states when receiving an aperiodic CSI-RS via the aperiodic CSI-RS resource.

2 . The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the instructions further cause the wireless device to transfer, to a base station, a capability information message indicating:

the first threshold indicating a minimum number of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols required by the wireless device to:

perform a PDCCH reception with a DCI; and

apply spatial QCL information received in the DCI in the PDCCH reception for a processing of a PDSCH scheduled by the DCI in the PDCCH reception; and

the second threshold indicating a minimum number of OFDM symbols between a DCI triggering an aperiodic CSI-RS and transmission of the triggered aperiodic CSI-RS.

3 . The wireless device of claim 2 , wherein:

the instructions further cause the wireless device to receive one or more radio resource control (RRC) messages comprising one or more PDSCH configuration parameters; and

the one or more PDSCH configuration parameters indicate a plurality of TCI states.

4 . The wireless device of claim 3 , wherein:

the trigger state is an aperiodic trigger state; and

the one or more RRC messages comprise a CSI aperiodic trigger state list parameter indicating one or more aperiodic trigger states that comprise the aperiodic trigger state.

5 . The wireless device of claim 4 , wherein the aperiodic trigger state comprises a CSI-RS resource set indicating one or more CSI-RS resources that comprise the aperiodic CSI-RS resource.

6 . The wireless device of claim 5 , wherein the instructions further cause the wireless device to receive the PDSCH based on:

the first reference signal indicated by the first TCI state; and

a second reference signal indicated by a second TCI state of the two TCI states.

7 . The wireless device of claim 6 , wherein:

at least one first demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) port of the PDSCH is quasi co-located with the first reference signal; and

at least one second DM-RS port of the PDSCH is quasi co-located with the second reference signal.

8 . The wireless device of claim 7 , wherein:

the instructions further cause the wireless device to map, after receiving the MAC CE, one or more respective TCI states to each codepoint of the codepoints; and

the MAC CE indicates activation of the TCI states, among the plurality of TCI states, mapped to the codepoints.

9 . The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the instructions further cause the wireless device to:

determine an overlap in at least one symbol among:

a first PDSCH indicated with the first TCI state;

a second PDSCH indicated with a second TCI state of the two TCI states; and

a second aperiodic CSI-RS resource; and

apply, when receiving a second aperiodic CSI-RS via the second aperiodic CSI-RS resource, the first reference signal indicated by the first TCI state of the first PDSCH or a second reference signal indicated by the second TCI state of the second PDSCH.

10 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein the first time offset is between:

a last symbol of a PDCCH carrying the first DCI; and

a first symbol of the PDSCH.

11 . The wireless device of claim 10 , wherein:

the first threshold is a time duration for quasi co-location (QCL); and

the second threshold is a beam switch timing.

12 . The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein:

the time duration for QCL indicates a minimum number of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols required by the wireless device to:

perform a PDCCH reception with a DCI; and

apply spatial QCL information received in the DCI in the PDCCH reception for a processing of a PDSCH scheduled by the DCI in the PDCCH reception; and

the beam switching timing indicates a minimum number of OFDM symbols between a DCI triggering an aperiodic CSI-RS and transmission of the triggered aperiodic CSI-RS.

13 . The wireless device of claim 12 , wherein the aperiodic CSI-RS is received using the same downlink spatial domain reception filter as the first reference signal indicated by the first TCI state.

14 . The wireless device of claim 13 , wherein the first TCI state indicates that a QCL type of the first reference signal is QCL-TypeD.

15 . The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein:

the instructions further cause the wireless device to receive one or more radio resource control (RRC) messages comprising one or more PDSCH configuration parameters; and

the one or more PDSCH configuration parameters indicate a plurality of TCI states.

16 . The wireless device of claim 15 , wherein:

the instructions further cause the wireless device to map, after receiving the MAC CE, one or more respective TCI states to each codepoint of the codepoints; and

the MAC CE indicates activation of the TCI states, among the plurality of TCI states, mapped to the codepoints.

17 . The wireless device of claim 16 , wherein the instructions further cause the wireless device to receive the PDSCH based on:

the first reference signal indicated by the first TCI state; and

a second reference signal indicated by a second TCI state of the two TCI states.

18 . The wireless device of claim 17 , wherein:

at least one first demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) port of the PDSCH is quasi co-located with the first reference signal; and

at least one second DM-RS port of the PDSCH is quasi co-located with the second reference signal.

19 . The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein:

the first threshold is a time duration for quasi co-location (QCL); and

the second threshold is a beam switch timing.

20 . The wireless device of claim 19 , wherein:

the time duration for QCL indicates a minimum number of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols required by the wireless device to:

perform a PDCCH reception with a DCI; and

apply spatial QCL information received in the DCI in the PDCCH reception for a processing of a PDSCH scheduled by the DCI in the PDCCH reception; and

the beam switching timing indicates a minimum number of OFDM symbols between a DCI triggering an aperiodic CSI-RS and transmission of the triggered aperiodic CSI-RS.
