Abstract

A wireless device transmits, for a random access procedure, a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission based on a first spatial filter. The wireless device receives a medium access control control element (MAC CE) indicating activation of more than one TCI state of a plurality of TCI states. The wireless device transmits one or more first uplink signals before applying a TCI state, from the more than one TCI state, indicated by a downlink control information (DCI), using the first spatial filter used and a first transmission power determined based on a synchronization signal block (SSB). The wireless device transmits, after applying the TCI state, one or more second uplink signals using: a second spatial filter determined based on a reference signal indicated by the TCI state and a second transmission power determined based on power control parameters associated with the TCI state.

Claims (35)

1 . A wireless device comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to:

transmit, to a base station and for a random access procedure, a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission based on a first spatial filter;

receive, from the base station, one or more configuration parameters indicating a plurality of transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states for uplink transmissions;

receive, from the base station, a medium access control control element (MAC CE) indicating activation of more than one TCI state of the plurality of TCI states;

transmit, to the base station, one or more first uplink signals before applying a TCI state, from the more than one TCI state, indicated by a downlink control information (DCI), wherein transmitting the one or more first uplink signal uses:

the first spatial filter used during the random access procedure; and

a first transmission power determined based on a synchronization signal block (SSB) used to obtain master information block (MIB); and

transmit, to the base station and after applying the TCI state, one or more second uplink signals using:

a second spatial filter determined based on a reference signal indicated by the TCI state; and

a second transmission power determined based on power control parameters associated with the TCI state.

2 . The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the instructions further cause the wireless device to receive, after transmitting the one or more first uplink signals, the DCI indicating the TCI state.

3 . The wireless device of claim 2 , wherein the instructions further cause the wireless device to activate the TCI state at a time period after receiving the MAC CE, wherein receiving the MAC CE is at a time before receiving the DCI.

4 . The wireless device of claim 3 , wherein the random access procedure is a most recent random access procedure.

5 . The wireless device of claim 4 , wherein the instructions further cause the wireless device to determine the first spatial parameter based on a default TCI state that is associated with the SSB.

6 . The wireless device of claim 5 , wherein the one or more configuration parameters further indicate an association between the TCI state and a pathloss reference signal.

7 . The wireless device of claim 6 , wherein the power control parameters indicates the pathloss reference signal.

8 . The wireless device of claim 7 , wherein the TCI state comprises a parameter indicating the pathloss reference signal.

9 . The wireless device of claim 8 , wherein transmitting the second uplink signal occurs at a time that is after applying the TCI state.

10 . The wireless device of claim 9 , wherein the instructions further cause the wireless device to receive, from the base station, the MIB.

11 . The wireless device of claim 10 , wherein the instructions further cause the wireless device to determine a default pathloss reference signal based on the SSB, wherein the first transmission power is determined based on the default pathloss reference signal.

12 . The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the reference signal is at least one of:

channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS); or

a second SSB.

13 . The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the reference signal is the SSB.

14 . The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the one or more configuration parameters further indicate an association between the TCI state and a pathloss reference signal.

15 . The wireless device of claim 14 , wherein the power control parameters indicates the pathloss reference signal.

16 . The wireless device of claim 15 , wherein the TCI state comprises a parameter indicating the pathloss reference signal.

17 . The wireless device of claim 16 , wherein transmitting the second uplink signal occurs at a time that is after applying the TCI state.

18 . The wireless device of claim 17 , wherein the reference signal is at least one of:

channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS); or

a second SSB.

19 . The wireless device of claim 18 , wherein the instructions further cause the wireless device to receive, after transmitting the one or more first uplink signals, the DCI indicating the TCI state.

20 . The wireless device of claim 19 , wherein the instructions further cause the wireless device to activate the TCI state at a time period after receiving the MAC CE, wherein receiving the MAC CE is at a time before receiving the DCI.
