Abstract

Embodiments of the present invention relate to systems, methods, processes, computer program code, and means for creating digital wallets for users. In some embodiments, digital wallets are created, at least in part, on information obtained from payment transactions conducted by users.

Claims (63)

1 . (canceled)

2 . A service provider system comprising:

a non-transitory memory; and

one or more hardware processors coupled to the non-transitory memory and configured to execute instructions from the non-transitory memory to cause the service provider system to perform operations comprising:

detecting a use of a payment card by a user at a point-of-sale (POS) device based on a transaction message exchanged by the POS device with the service provider system via a first application programming interface (API);

prompting, on the POS device via the first API, the user for a consent to transmit payment card information for the payment card to a wallet enrollment system provided by the service provider system;

receiving, from the POS device via a second API associated with the wallet enrollment system, a first message comprising the payment card information, the consent, and contact information for the user provided at the POS device;

determining a first portion of the payment card information designated for storage by a storage device that prevents recordation of the first portion of the payment card information outside of the storage device;

storing the first portion of the payment card information on the storage device, wherein the first portion is stored in association with a proxy identifier usable to retrieve the first portion from the storage device;

creating a seed data record based on the contact information, a second portion of the payment card information, and the proxy identifier; and

transmitting, to a user of the user based on the contact information, a second message that directs the user to a user interface associated with the wallet enrollment system, wherein the user is able to create a digital wallet for the payment card using the seed data record via the user interface.

3 . The service provider system of claim 2 , wherein the first portion of the payment card information comprises a primary account number of the payment card that is represented by the proxy identifier, and wherein the primary account number is stored only by the storage device.

4 . The service provider system of claim 2 , wherein the first portion of the information includes one or more payment card details not included in the second portion.

5 . The service provider system of claim 2 , wherein the operations further comprise:

receiving a response to the second message at the wallet enrollment system via the user interface, wherein the response comprises user information usable for creating the digital wallet;

identifying the seed data record using the user information;

converting the seed data record to an active data record for the digital wallet with the service provider system; and

creating the digital wallet for the account based on the active data record and the user information.

6 . The service provider system of claim 5 , wherein the operations further comprise:

verifying the user information received via the user interface using at least one of the payment card information or the contact information.

7 . The service provider system of claim 5 , wherein the operations further comprise:

generating an account for the digital wallet with the service provider system, wherein the account is generated independent of additional user input from the user.

8 . The service provider system of claim 5 , wherein the response further comprises additional information provided by the user for the digital wallet, and wherein the digital wallet is created based further on the additional information.

9 . The service provider system of claim 2 , wherein the operations further comprise:

generating the proxy identifier for the first portion of the payment card information designated for storage on the storage device,

formatting interaction information for the seed data record from an interaction between the user and the POS device based on the transaction message, wherein the interaction information is formatted in a data format that prevents a recordation of data designated for storage on the storage device, and wherein the formatted interaction information is associated with the proxy identifier; and

storing the formatted interaction data in association with the first portion by the storage device.

10 . A method comprising:

collecting information usable for creating a digital wallet for a user at a point-of-sale (POS) device based on one or more transaction messages exchanged by the POS device with a service provider via a first application programming interface (API), wherein the information is associated with a funding instrument used by the user at the POS device;

prompting, on the POS device via the first API, the user for a consent for a use of the information by a wallet enrollment system associated with the service provider;

receiving, via a second API configured for communications with the wallet enrollment system, a first message comprising the consent;

determining a first portion of the information designated for storage on a storage device that prevents a recordation of the first portion on one or more storages separate from the storage device;

generating a seed data record based on a second portion of the information and a proxy identifier usable for retrieving the first portion from the storage device; and

transmitting, to the user based on the information, a digital message that directs the user to a user interface that enables the user to create a digital wallet using the seed data record.

11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the first portion of the information comprises a primary account number of the funding instrument that is represented by the proxy identifier, and wherein the information that enables a determination of the primary account number is stored only by the storage device.

12 . The method of claim 10 , wherein the first portion of the information includes one or more details of the funding instrument not included in the second portion.

13 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising:

receiving a response to the digital message at the wallet enrollment system via the user interface, wherein the response comprises user information usable for creating the digital wallet;

identifying the seed data record using the user information; and

converting the seed data record to an active data record for the digital wallet with the service provider.

14 . The method of claim 13 , further comprising:

creating the digital wallet for the account based on the active data record and the user information.

15 . The method of claim 13 , further comprising;

verifying the user information received via the user interface using at least one of the information associated with the funding instrument or the contact information.

16 . The method of claim 13 , further comprising:

generating an account for the digital wallet with the service provider, wherein the account is generated independent of additional user input from the user.

17 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the response further comprises additional information provided by the user for the digital wallet, and wherein the digital wallet is created based further on the additional information.

18 . The method of claim 10 , further comprising:

generating the proxy identifier for the first portion of the information designated for storage on the storage device,

formatting interaction information for the seed data record from an interaction between the user and the POS device based on the one or more transaction messages, wherein the interaction information is formatted in a data format that prevents a recordation of data designated for storage on the storage device, and wherein the formatted interaction information is associated with the proxy identifier; and

storing the formatted interaction data in association with the first portion by the storage device.

19 . A non-transitory machine-readable medium having instructions stored thereon, the instructions executable to cause performance of operations comprising:

receiving a transaction message associated with a payment card from a point-of-sale (POS) device via a first application programming interface (API) of a service provider;

requesting, on the POS device via the first API, a consent from the user to transmit payment card information for the payment card to a wallet enrollment system provided by the service provider;

receiving, from the POS device via a second API associated with the wallet enrollment system, a first message comprising the payment card information and the consent;

determining a first portion of the payment card information designated for storage by a storage device that prevents recordation of the first portion of the payment card information outside of the storage device;

storing the first portion of the payment card information on the storage device in association with a proxy identifier;

creating a seed data record based on a second portion of the payment card information and the proxy identifier; and

transmitting, to a user device of the user, a second message that directs the user to a user interface associated with the wallet enrollment system that enables the user to create a digital wallet for the payment card using the seed data record.

20 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 19 , wherein the operations further comprise:

receiving contact information for the user provided at the POS device via the second API; and

generating the seed data record based on the contact information.

21 . The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 20 , wherein the second message is transmitted to the user device based on the contact information.
