Abstract

The disclosure is directed to a flapper system and a flapper system kit that is compatible with both 2″ and 3″ flush valve seats. In some embodiments, the flapper system is configured to enable a user to select either a 2″ or 3″ flush valve seal for the flapper system. In some embodiments, the flapper system includes a pivot that enables sealing of a flat flush valve seat or an angled flush valve seat. In some embodiments, the flapper system includes one or more adjustable window assemblies that control a fluid flowrate within an internal portion of the flapper system to control buoyancy. In some embodiments, the flapper system includes an adaptor that converts a 2″ valve into a 3″ valve.

Claims (55)

1 . A system comprising:

a main body,

an upper buoyancy dome,

a lower buoyancy dome, and

a protrusion rod;

wherein the lower buoyancy dome is configured to couple to the upper buoyancy dome via the protrusion rod; and

wherein the main body includes a flush valve seal configured to seal a flush valve seat.

2 . The system of claim 1 ,

wherein a bottom portion of the protrusion rod is configured to engage a bottom portion of the lower buoyancy dome.

3 . The system of claim 2 ,

wherein the bottom portion of the lower buoyancy dome comprises a bleed path adjacent to the bottom portion of the bottom portion of the protrusion rod.

4 . The system of claim 3 ,

wherein rotation of the upper buoyancy dome is configured to adjust the bleed path.

5 . The system of claim 4 ,

wherein the main body comprises at least part of an adjustable window.

6 . The system of claim 5 ,

wherein the rotation of the upper buoyancy dome causes the adjustable window to open or close.

7 . The system of claim 6 ,

wherein the lower buoyancy dome comprises at least part of the adjustable window.

8 . The system of claim 2 , further comprising:

a first fulcrum mount, and

a second fulcrum mount;

wherein the first fulcrum mount is configured to mount the main body to a first sized flush seat;

wherein the second fulcrum mount is configured to mount the main body to a second sized flush seat; and

wherein the first sized flush seat is a different size than the second sized flush seat.

9 . A system comprising:

a main body,

a upper buoyancy dome,

a lower buoyancy dome, and

an adjustable window;

wherein rotation of the upper buoyancy dome causes the adjustable window to open or close; and

wherein the main body includes a flush valve seal configured to seal a flush valve seat.

10 . The system of claim 9 ,

wherein the rotation of the upper buoyancy dome is configured to adjust a flowrate of water and/or air through the adjustable window.

11 . The system of claim 9 ,

wherein the lower buoyancy dome comprises a lower dome window.

12 . The system of claim 11 ,

wherein the main body comprises a main body window.

13 . The system of claim 12 ,

wherein the main body window and the lower dome window form the adjustable window.

14 . The system of claim 11 ,

wherein a bottom portion of the lower buoyancy dome comprises a bleed path.

15 . The system of claim 14 ,

wherein the rotation of the upper buoyancy dome is configured to adjust the bleed path.

16 . The system of claim 9 , further comprising:

a protrusion rod;

wherein the lower buoyancy dome is configured to couple to the upper buoyancy dome via the protrusion rod.

17 . The system of claim 16 ,

wherein a bleed path is positioned adjacent to a distal end of the protrusion rod.

18 . The system of claim 9 , further comprising:

a first fulcrum mount, and

a second fulcrum mount;

wherein the first fulcrum mount is configured to mount the main body to a first sized flush seat;

wherein the second fulcrum mount is configured to mount the main body to a second sized flush seat; and

wherein the first sized flush seat is a different size than the second sized flush seat.
