HAND TRUCK CARRY HANDLE
Material handling devices are disclosed. Specifically disclosed are hand truck structures such as toe plates, wheel supports, handles, and lock mechanisms, as well as methods of construction and manufacturing. Structures and methods of providing handles on that allow for grasping of a hand truck along the between rails are specifically disclosed.
1 . A hand truck comprising:
a frame comprising a pair of uprights;
a plurality of cross-braces spanning between the two uprights;
a toe plate attached to the frame;
a pair of axle supports, each axle support associated with one of the pair of uprights;
an axle spanning the axle supports; and
a pair of wheels mounted to the axle;
wherein one of the plurality of cross-braces comprises a lift grip attached to the cross-brace.
2 . The hand truck of claim 1 wherein each of the plurality of cross-braces comprises a lift grip attached to the cross-brace.
3 . The hand truck of claim 1 wherein each of the plurality of cross-braces is comprised of metal and the lift grip is comprised of plastic.
4 . The hand truck of claim 1 wherein each of the plurality of cross-braces is comprised of metal and the lift grip is comprised of rubber.
5 . The hand truck of claim 1 wherein the lift grip is attached to its associated cross brace by a rivet.
6 . The hand truck of claim 1 wherein each of the plurality of cross-braces has a C-shaped cross-section and the lift grip fits within the C-shaped cross-section of its associated cross-brace.
7 . The hand truck of claim 1 wherein the lift grip comprises textured grip surface.
8 . The hand truck of claim 2 wherein each lift grip is attached to its associated cross-brace by a rivet.
9 . The hand truck of claim 8 wherein each of the plurality of cross-braces has a C-shaped cross-section and each lift grip fits within the C-shaped cross-section of its associated cross-brace.
10 . The hand truck of claim 9 wherein each lift grip comprises textured grip surface.
11 . The hand truck of claim 2 wherein each of the plurality of cross-braces is comprised of metal and each lift grip is comprised of plastic.
12 . The hand truck of claim 3 wherein each lift grip is attached to its associated cross brace by a rivet.
13 . A hand truck comprising:
a pair of rails;
a handle attached to the pair of rails;
a plurality of cross-braces spanning between the rails, each cross-brace having a C-shaped cross-section;
a toe plate attached to the pair of rails;
an axle bracket attached to each of the pair of rails;
an axle spanning the axle brackets;
a pair of wheels mounted to the axle; and
a lift grip attached to and fitted within the C-shaped cross-section of one of the plurality of cross-braces.
14 . The hand truck of claim 13 wherein each of the plurality of cross-braces is comprised of metal and the lift grip is comprised of plastic.
15 . The hand truck of claim 14 wherein the lift grip is attached to its associated cross-brace by a rivet.
16 . The hand truck of claim 15 wherein the lift grip comprises textured grip surface.
17 . The hand truck of claim 13 wherein each of the plurality of cross-braces comprises a lift grip attached to the cross-brace.
18 . The hand truck of claim 17 wherein each of the plurality of cross-braces is comprised of metal and the lift grip is comprised of plastic.
19 . The hand truck of claim 18 wherein each lift grip is attached to its associated cross-brace by a rivet.
20 . A hand truck comprising:
a pair of metal uprights spanned by a plurality of metal cross-braces;
a handle;
a toe plate mounted to the pair of uprights;
an axle support mounted to the pair of uprights;
a pair of wheels mounted to the axle; and
a plastic lift grip mounted to one of the plurality of cross-braces.
