Support For Network Service
A wireless device sends, to an access and mobility function (AMF), a non-access stratum (NAS) message that includes an establishment request for a first protocol data unit (PDU) session, and a network slice identifier of an allowed network slice that is a first network slice. The wireless device receives, from the AMF, one or more messages that include allowed network slice identifiers indicating the first network slice and a fourth network slice, alternative network slice identifiers indicating a second network slice and a third network slice, and mapping information. The mapping information indicates that the second network slice is an alternative network slice for the first network slice, and that the third network slice is an alternative network slice for the fourth network slice. The wireless device sends, to the AMF, a second request message, for a second PDU session, indicating the alternative network slice for the first network slice.
1 . A wireless device comprising:
one or more processors; and
memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to:
send, to an access and mobility function (AMF), a non-access stratum (NAS) message comprising:
an establishment request for a first protocol data unit (PDU) session; and
a network slice identifier of an allowed network slice within which the first PDU session is established, wherein the allowed network slice is a first network slice;
receive, from the AMF, one or more messages comprising:
allowed network slice identifiers indicating at least the first network slice and a fourth network slice;
alternative network slice identifiers indicating at least a second network slice and a third network slice; and
mapping information indicating at least:
that the second network slice is an alternative network slice for the first network slice; and
that the third network slice is an alternative network slice for the fourth network slice; and
send, to the AMF, a second request message, for a second PDU session, indicating the alternative network slice for the first network slice.
2 . The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the second PDU session is via the alternative network slice for the first network slice.
3 . The wireless device of claim 2 , wherein the second request message indicates that the allowed network slice is not available.
4 . The wireless device of claim 3 , wherein the second request message indicates that the allowed network slice is not available in a tracking area (TA) of a registration (RA).
5 . The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the alternative network slice for the first network slice is used when the allowed network slice is not available.
6 . The wireless device of claim 1 , wherein the instructions further cause the wireless device to receive, from the AMF, a paging message.
7 . The wireless device of claim 6 , wherein the paging message indicates a data arrival of the allowed network slice.
8 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a wireless device, cause the wireless device to:
send, to an access and mobility function (AMF), a non-access stratum (NAS) message comprising:
an establishment request for a first protocol data unit (PDU) session; and
a network slice identifier of an allowed network slice within which the first PDU session is established, wherein the allowed network slice is a first network slice;
receive, from the AMF, one or more messages comprising:
allowed network slice identifiers indicating at least the first network slice and a fourth network slice;
alternative network slice identifiers indicating at least a second network slice and a third network slice; and
mapping information indicating at least:
that the second network slice is an alternative network slice for the first network slice; and
that the third network slice is an alternative network slice for the fourth network slice; and
send, to the AMF, a second request message, for a second PDU session, indicating the alternative network slice for the first network slice.
9 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 8 , wherein the second PDU session is via the alternative network slice for the first network slice.
10 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 9 , wherein the second request message indicates that the allowed network slice is not available.
11 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 10 , wherein the second request message indicates that the allowed network slice is not available in a tracking area (TA) of a registration (RA).
12 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 8 , wherein the alternative network slice for the first network slice is used when the allowed network slice is not available.
13 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 8 , wherein the instructions further cause the wireless device to receive, from the AMF, a paging message.
14 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of an access and mobility management function (AMF), cause the AMF to:
receive, from a wireless device, a non-access stratum (NAS) message comprising:
an establishment request for a first protocol data unit (PDU) session; and
a network slice identifier of an allowed network slice within which the first PDU session is established, wherein the allowed network slice is a first network slice;
send, to the wireless device, one or more messages comprising:
allowed network slice identifiers indicating at least the first network slice and a fourth network slice;
alternative network slice identifiers indicating at least a second network slice and a third network slice; and
mapping information indicating at least:
that the second network slice is an alternative network slice for the first network slice; and
that the third network slice is an alternative network slice for the fourth network slice; and
receive, from the wireless device, a second request message, for a second PDU session, indicating the alternative network slice for the first network slice.
15 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 14 , wherein data associated with the first network slice is transmitted via the alternative network slice for the first network slice.
16 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 14 , wherein the AMF sends the one or more messages upon determining the allowed network slice is not available in a tracking area (TA) of a registration area (RA).
17 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 16 , wherein the allowed network slice is supported in a first TA of the RA, and wherein the RA comprises the first TA and the TA.
18 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 14 , wherein the alternative network slice for the first network slice is used when the allowed network slice is not available.
19 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 14 , wherein the instructions further cause the AMF to send a paging message.
20 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 19 , wherein the paging message indicates a data arrival of the allowed network slice.
