System, Method, and Apparatus for Initiating Outbound Communications From a User Device
Provided is a system including at least one processor configured to detect a communication request for a communication between a protected party and a second party, in response to determining the communication originated from the second party, determine if an identity of the second party is verified by the originating service provider based on at least one of STIR/SHAKEN attestation or a network operator, in response determining that the identity of the second party is verified by the originating service provider, initiate a search in a database maintained by the protected party based on an identifier of the second party, determine if the identifier of the second party matches an entry in the database based on the search, and in response to determining that the identifier of the second does not match an entry in the database, automatically monitor the communication in real-time.

31 . A method comprising:
detecting, with at least one processor, a communication or a communication request for a communication between a user device and a remote entity;
determining, with the at least one processor, a security risk associated with the communication or communication request;
determining, based on determining the security risk, a blocking setting based on a user profile of a user of the user device, the user profile associated with the user device and another device of the user; and
blocking at least one of a function or an application on the user device and the another device of the user based on the user profile and the blocking setting.
32 . The method of claim 31 , further comprising:
extending a duration of the blocking of the at least one of the function or the application beyond an end of the communication.
33 . The method of claim 31 , wherein blocking the at least one of the function or the application comprises blocking at least one of the following: an application, a website, a web service, or any combination thereof.
34 . The method of claim 31 , wherein blocking the at least one of the function or application comprises blocking at least one of the following applications or at least one function thereof: a financial application or website, a banking application or website, a credit card application or website, an e-wallet application or website, a digital wallet, a cryptocurrency wallet or website, or any combination thereof.
35 . The method of claim 31 , wherein blocking the at least one of the function or the application comprises browser-level blocking of access on the user device.
36 . The method of claim 31 , wherein blocking the at least one of the function or the application comprises causing a separate system to implement the blocking, wherein the separate system comprises a device or system independent of the user device.
37 . The method of claim 31 , wherein blocking the at least one of the function or the application comprises blocking the function, further comprising:
determining the function to block based on a machine-learning model.
38 . The method of claim 31 , wherein determining the security risk comprises determining, based on information received from a communication service provider or a network operator, whether caller identification information is not spoofed.
39 . The method of claim 31 , wherein blocking the at least one of the function or the application comprises blocking access to a screen-sharing application or blocking a screen-sharing function.
40 . The method of claim 31 , wherein blocking the at least one of the function or the application comprises blocking at least one of the following: a password reset function, a password entry function, an identity authentication function, an identity authentication application, a security verification message, or any combination thereof.
41 . The method of claim 31 , wherein determining the security risk comprises determining whether the remote entity is associated with a safe list associated with the user profile.
42 . The method of claim 31 , wherein determining the security risk comprises determining whether the remote entity is affiliated with a registered application or registered network location associated with the user profile.
43 . The method of claim 31 , further comprising storing or updating, based on the security risk, an indication in a database, cache, or user-profile record representing whether access to at least one function or application is blocked.
44 . The method of claim 31 , wherein the communication is an inbound communication to the user device from the remote entity, and wherein determining the security risk comprises determining that:
(i) an identity of the remote entity is not verified by a communication service provider or a network operator; or
(ii) the identity of the remote entity is verified by the communication service provider or the network operator, and the remote entity is neither associated with a safe list associated with the user profile nor affiliated with a registered application or registered network location associated with the user profile.
45 . The method of claim 31 , wherein the communication is an outbound communication from the user device to the remote entity, and wherein determining the security risk comprises determining that the remote entity is not associated with a safe list associated with the user profile and is not affiliated with a registered application or registered network location associated with the user profile.
46 . The method of claim 45 , wherein determining the security risk further comprises verifying the identity of the entity that controls a telephone number, short code, address, or network identifier associated with the remote entity.
47 . A system comprising:
at least one processor configured to:
detect a communication or a communication request for a communication between a user device and a remote entity;
determine a security risk associated with the communication or communication request;
determine, based on determining the security risk, a blocking setting based on a user profile of a user of the user device, the user profile associated with the user device and another device of the user; and
block at least one of a function or an application on the user device and the another device of the user based on the user profile and the blocking setting.
48 . The system of claim 47 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to extend a duration of the blocking of the at least one of the function or the application beyond an end of the communication.
49 . The system of claim 47 , wherein blocking the at least one of the function or the application comprises blocking at least one of the following: an application, a website, a web service, or any combination thereof.
50 . The system of claim 47 , wherein blocking the at least one of the function or the application comprises browser-level blocking of access on the user device.
51 . The system of claim 47 , wherein blocking the at least one of the function or the application comprises causing a separate system to implement the blocking, wherein the separate system comprises a device or system independent of the user device.
52 . The system of claim 47 , wherein blocking the at least one of the function or the application comprises blocking the function, and wherein the at least one processor is further configured to determine the function to block based on a machine-learning model.
53 . The system of claim 47 , wherein blocking the at least one of the function or the application comprises blocking access to a screen-sharing application or blocking a screen-sharing function.

The system of claim 47 , wherein blocking the at least one of the function or the application comprises blocking at least one of the following: a password reset function, a password entry function, an identity authentication function, an identity authentication application, a security verification message, or any combination thereof.
55 . The system of claim 47 , wherein determining the security risk comprises determining whether the remote entity is associated with a safe list associated with the user profile.
56 . The system of claim 47 , wherein determining the security risk comprises determining whether the remote entity is affiliated with a registered application or registered network location associated with the user profile.
57 . The system of claim 47 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to store or update, based on the security risk, an indication in a database, cache, or user-profile record representing whether access to at least one function or application is blocked.
58 . The system of claim 47 , wherein the communication is an inbound communication to the user device from the remote entity, and wherein determining the security risk comprises determining that:
(i) an identity of the remote entity is not verified by a communication service provider or a network operator; or
(ii) the identity of the remote entity is verified by the communication service provider or the network operator, and the remote entity is neither associated with a safe list associated with the user profile nor affiliated with a registered application or registered network location associated with the user profile.
59 . The system of claim 47 , wherein the communication is an outbound communication from the user device to the remote entity, and wherein determining the security risk comprises determining that the remote entity is not associated with a safe list associated with the user profile and is not affiliated with a registered application or registered network location associated with the user profile.
60 . A computer program product comprising at least one non-transitory computer-readable medium including program instructions that, when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to:
detect a communication or a communication request for a communication between a user device and a remote entity;
determine a security risk associated with the communication or communication request;
determine, based on determining the security risk, a blocking setting based on a user profile of a user of the user device, the user profile associated with the user device and another device of the user; and
block at least one of a function or an application on the user device and the another device of the user based on the user profile and the blocking setting.
