Substituted quinazolinones for treating neurological conditions
View Patent ↗Compounds of the formula or salts, tautomers or isomers thereof, are useful for treating neurological conditions, especially neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease.
1. A compound of the formula
or pharmaceutically acceptable salts, tautomers or stereoisomers thereof, in which
R 2 is CH 2 NR 1 R 4 in which R 1 and R 4 are independently selected from H and C 1-3 alkyl;
R 3 is optionally substituted C 1-4 alkyl;
R 5 and R 7 are chloro; and
X is O
wherein the optional substituents are independently selected from alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, aryl, formyl, halo, haloalkyl, haloalkenyl, haloalkynyl, haloaryl, hydroxy, alkoxy, alkenyloxy, aryloxy, benzyloxy, haloalkoxy, haloalkenyloxy, haloaryloxy, nitro, nitroalkyl, nitroalkenyl, nitroalkynyl, nitroaryl, nitroheterocyclyl, amino, alkylamino, dialkylamino, alkenylamino, alkynylamino, arylamino, diarylamino, benzylamino, dibenzylamino, acyl, alkenylacyl, alkynylacyl, arylacyl, acylamino, diacylamino, acyloxy, alkylsulphonyloxy, arylsulphenyloxy, heterocyclyl, heterocyclyloxy, heterocyclylamino, haloheterocyclyl, alkylsulphenyl, arylsulphenyl, carboalkoxy, carboaryloxy, mercapto, alkylthio, benzylthio and acylthio.
2. A compound according to claim 1 in which R 2 is CH 2 NHR 1 in which R 1 is methyl or ethyl; R 3 is C 1-3 alkyl; R 5 and R 7 are chloro; and X is O or the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
3. A compound according to claim 2 in which R 2 is CH 2 NHR 1 in which R 1 is methyl or ethyl; R 3 is C 2-3 alkyl; R 5 and R 7 are chloro; and X is O or the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
4. A compound according to claim 2 in which R 2 is CH 2 NHR 1 in which R 1 is methyl or ethyl; R 3 is methyl; R 5 and R 7 are chloro; and X is O or the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
5. A pharmaceutical or veterinary composition comprising an effective amount of the compound of formula I as defined in claim 1 or pharmaceutically acceptable salts, tautomers, or stereoisomers thereof and a pharmaceutically or veterinarily acceptable carrier.
