The invention relates to activated Streptococcus pneumoniae serotype 10A, 22F or 33F polysaccharides and processes for their preparation. The invention also relates to immunogenic conjugates comprising Streptococcus pneumoniae serotype 10A, 22F or 33F polysaccharides covalently linked to a carrier protein, processes for their preparation and immunogenic compositions and vaccines comprising them.
1. An activated Streptococcus pneumoniae serotype 10A capsular polysaccharide, wherein said polysaccharide has a molecular weight between 50 and 400 kDa, 50 and 350 kDa, 50 and 300 kDa, 50 and 250 kDa, 50 and 200 kDa, 100 and 300 kDa, 100 and 250 kDa, or 100 and 200 kDa.
2. An activated Streptococcus pneumoniae serotype 10A capsular polysaccharide according to claim 1 , wherein said polysaccharide has a degree of oxidation between 5 and 20, 5 and 15, 8 and 14, 8 and 12, or 9 and 11.
3. An activated Streptococcus pneumoniae serotype 22F capsular polysaccharide, wherein said polysaccharide has a molecular weight between 25 and 1000 kDa, 100 and 1000 kDa, 300 and 800 kDa, 300 and 700 kDa, 300 and 600 kDa, 400 and 1000 kDa, 400 and 800 kDa, 400 and 700 kDa, or 400 and 600 kDa.
4. An activated Streptococcus pneumoniae serotype 22F capsular polysaccharide according to claim 3 , wherein said polysaccharide has a degree of oxidation between 10 and 25, 10 and 20, 12 and 20, or 14 and 18.

An activated Streptococcus pneumoniae serotype 33F capsular polysaccharide, wherein said polysaccharide has a molecular weight between 50 and 1250kDa, 200 and 1200 kDa, 500 and 1200 kDa, 500 and 1000 kDa, 700 and 1200 kDa, 800 and 1200 kDa, 800 and 1100 kDa, 900 and 1200 kDa, or 800 and 1000 kDa.
6. An activated Streptococcus pneumoniae serotype 33F capsular polysaccharide according to claim 5 , wherein said polysaccharide has a degree of oxidation between 10 and 20.
