Abstract

A printer cradle is provided having a recess with an inclined face for receiving and removably locating a print cartridge, a retainer for removably retaining the print cartridge within the recess, and resilient members arranged to act against the print cartridge as it is located by the inclined face and to bias the print cartridge against the retainer once located within the recess. The print cartridge has a pagewidth printhead, a printing fluid supply and a fluid connection between the printhead and the printing fluid supply.

Claims (7)

1. A printer cradle comprising:

a recess having an inclined face and a non-inclined face for receiving and removably locating respective inclined and non-inclined faces of a print cartridge, the print cartridge having a pagewidth printhead, a printing fluid supply and a fluid connection between the printhead and the printing fluid supply;

a retainer hingedly extending between the inclined and non-inclined faces of the recess for removably retaining the print cartridge within the recess; and

resilient members arranged at the inclined face of the recess to act against the print cartridge as the inclined face of the print cartridge is located by the inclined face of the recess and to bias the print cartridge against the retainer once located within the recess.

2. A printer cradle according to claim 1 , wherein the resilient members are springs mounted in the recess about the inclined face.

3. A printer cradle according to claim 1 , wherein the resilient members are configured to engage and bear against a face of the print cartridge as the print cartridge is held slightly skew to the recess as it is being received therein.

4. A printer cradle according to claim 1 , wherein the retainer is a lockable latch.
