Abstract

Claims (12)

1. An aqueous liquid laundry detergent composition comprising:

(a) from about 5% to about 80%, by weight of the composition, of a detergent surfactant, wherein from about 1% to about 80%, by weight of the composition is an alkoxylated carboxylic acid ester surfactant of formula (I):

wherein R 1 is selected from linear or branched C 6 to C 22 alkyl or alkylene groups;

R 2 is selected from C 2 H 4 or C 3 H 6 groups;

R 3 is selected from H, CH 3 , C 2 H 5 or C 3 H 7 groups; and n has a value between 1 and 20,

(b) from about 0.1% to about 3% of urea;

(c) wherein the pH of the composition is in the range from about 6 to about 8;

(d) a free radical scavenger in an amount up to 0.05%, with the mole ratio of the alkoxylated ester to the free radical scavenger of from 200:1 to 50:1;

(e) from about 15% to about 90% of water.

2. The composition of claim 1 wherein the composition comprises an alkaline builder.

3. The composition of claim 1 wherein the pH of the composition is in the range from about 6.5 to 8.0.

4. A method of removing grass stains from laundry, the method comprising washing laundry in an aqueous medium comprising the composition of claim 1 .
