Ophthalmic composition containing xanthan gum and amino acid
The present invention provides an ophthalmic composition containing xanthan gum, or xanthan gum and an amino acid, which has a superior corneal epithelial disorder-treating effect and a superior corneal epithelial cell-protecting effect.
1. A method of treating a corneal epithelial disorder caused by drying, UV rays, or contact with a preservative, which comprises administering 0.05-0.4 w/v % of xanthan gum and an amino acid to a corneal epithelial cell of a subject in need thereof,
wherein:
the amino acid is at least one member selected from the group consisting of aspartic acid, aminoethyl sulfonic acid and sodium condroitin sulfate wherein a concentration of the aspartic acid is 0.05-1 w/v %, a concentration of the aminoethyl sulfonic acid is 0.5 w/v % and a concentration of the sodium condroitin sulfate is 0.5 w/v %.
