Abstract

Electric pest deterrents device having knitted conductors are presented. An elongated conductor comprising at least a single conducting strand knitted with itself or with other conducting strands can be attached to a based of the device. The conducting strands can be knitted according to one or more patterns to form textured surfaces having raise protrusions.

Claims (24)

1. An electrical deterrent device, comprising:

an elongated, flexible base having an extruded hole that increases a flexibility of the base;

first and second conductors, each of which comprises at least two conducting strands that form an elongated conducting band; and

wherein the first and second conductors are attached to the elongated base.

2. An electrical deterrent device of claim 1 , wherein the elongated base further comprises at least one channel on a bottom of the base comprising:

an elongated base;

first and second conductors, each of which comprises at least two conducting strands knitted together to form an elongated conducting band; and

wherein the first and second conductors are attached to the elongated base.

3. The device of claim 1 , wherein the at least two conducting strands are layered to form the conducting band.

4. The device of claim 1 , wherein the conducting band is a knitted sheet.

5. The device of claim 1 , wherein the conducting band is a knitted tube.

6. The device of claim 1 , wherein the first conductor further comprises a second conducting band nested within the conducting band.

7. The device of claim 1 , wherein the first conductor is mechanically attached to the elongated base.

8. The device of claim 7 , wherein the first conductor is attached to the base via a friction-fit.

9. The device of claim 7 , wherein the first conductor is attached to the base via sewing.

10. The device of claim 1 , wherein the at least two conducting strands comprise raised protrusions.

11. The device of claim 1 , wherein the second conductor is attached to the base parallel to the first conductor, and wherein the second conductor is coupled to a power source.

12. The device of claim 1 , wherein the conducting band comprises a knitted texture.

13. The device of claim 12 , wherein the knitted texture includes raised protrusions on a surface of the conducting band.

14. The device of claim 1 , wherein the elongated base further comprises an insulator disposed between the first and second conductors.

15. The device of claim 14 , wherein the insulator comprises a raised portion of the base.

16. The device of claim 1 , further comprising an anti-arc lip.

17. The device of claim 1 , wherein a bottom surface of the base extends from a first outer edge to a second outer edge of the base.

18. The device of claim 1 , wherein each of the first and second conductors are disposed above the hole.
