Hand-held quad core processing apparatus
View Patent ↗A hand-held apparatus is provided having a digital camera, a display, a miniature keyboard, a network interface, and four interconnected processing units arranged to jointly run programs for the operation of the digital camera, display, miniature keyboard, and network interface.
1. A hand-held apparatus, comprising:
a digital camera;
a display;
a miniature keyboard;
a network interface; and
four interconnected processing units arranged to jointly run programs for operation of the digital camera, the display, the miniature keyboard, and the network interface,
wherein the programs run by the processing units provide effects including spatial transformations, artistic brushing, complex synthetic illumination, color transforms, image filtering, and compositing on images captured by the digital camera.
2. An apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the display is a liquid crystal display.
3. An apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the liquid crystal display is a thin film transistor display.
4. An apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the processing units are arranged so as to exchange data with one another.
5. An apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising an electronic flash configured to operate in conjunction with the digital camera.
6. An apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein a crossbar switch interconnects each of the four interconnected processing units.
7. An apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the miniature keyboard is used for input of instructions for rewriting microcode in a memory included in each of the four interconnected processing units.
8. An apparatus according to claim 7 , wherein the memory comprises a RAM (random-access memory).
9. An apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the digital camera includes an image sensor.
10. An apparatus according to claim 9 , wherein the image sensor is a CMOS image sensor.
