Method and apparatus for creation, distribution, assembly and verification of media
A method and apparatus for creation, distribution, assembly and verification of media, including one embodiment, media is transmitted to a receiver where the receiver assembles the media into programming. In another embodiment, media is transmitted to the receiver from a plurality of sources. In a further embodiment, a source of media performs a tagging operation to associate sets of tags with elements of the stream of media. In various embodiments, different combinations of look-and-feel, content and other tags are associated with the media stream. In an additional embodiment, tagging of the media stream is performed at the receiver. A user at the receiver may also provide data about the user to the receiver. In yet another embodiment, the receiver uses the tags to assemble the media into a program. In still further embodiments of the invention, various Royalty Only Aggregate Revenues or “ROAR” models and apparatus are disclosed.
1. A method of media distribution, comprising:
obtaining a first media stream comprising first media elements from a first media source;
tagging said first media elements with a first plurality of first and second tags;
obtaining a second media stream comprising second media elements from a second media source;
tagging said second media elements with a second plurality of first and second tags;
obtaining a template wherein said template guides assembly of a media program;
assembling said media program to include elements of said first and second media streams using said template and according to a combination of at least some of said first plurality of first tags and said second plurality of first tags; and
providing an indication of at least one aggregated royalty revenue according to a selected set of said first and second plurality of second tags,
wherein each second tag comprises a header, wherein said header comprises data relating to a royalty obligation.
2. A method according to claim 1 , wherein said header includes data relating to Downloads, Royalties and Packaging.
3. A method according to claim 1 , wherein said header includes data relating to Sponsorship.
4. A method according to claim 1 , which includes a descriptor for DATA CHANNEL/CARRIER(S) SIGNIFIERS AND ROYALTIES.
5. A method according to claim 1 , wherein said header includes data relating to RETAILER CODE AND ROYALTY.
6. A method according to claim 1 , wherein said header includes data relating to WHOLESALER CODE AND ROYALTY.
7. A method according to claim 1 , wherein said header includes data relating to COLLECTION ENTITY AND ROYALTY.
8. A method according to claim 1 , wherein said header includes data relating to PRODUCT CODE OF VALUED-ENTITY.
9. A method according to claim 1 , wherein said header includes data relating to ROYALTY PARTICIPANT FIELDS.
10. A method according to claim 1 , wherein said header includes data relating to ROLE OF PARTICIPANT.
11. A method according to claim 1 , wherein said header includes data relating to PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATION OF PARTICIPANT.
