Abstract

An enclosed resonator includes a generally planar plate having a top side and a bottom side wherein a pocket is recessed into the bottom side to produce a bottom surface and a periphery around the rectangular pocket including a first pair of parallel sides and a second pair of parallel sides, a plurality of generally parallel channels formed into the top side each channel extending generally in a direction of the second pair of parallel sides, a first plurality of holes extending along a first side of the first pair of parallel sides each hole extending from the bottom side to one of the plurality of generally parallel channels, a second plurality of holes extending along a second side of the first pair of parallel sides each hole extending from the bottom side to one of the plurality of generally parallel channels.

Claims (20)

1. An enclosed resonator comprising:

a generally planar plate having a top side and a bottom side wherein a rectangular pocket is recessed into the bottom side to produce a bottom surface and a periphery around the rectangular pocket comprising a first pair of parallel sides and a second pair of parallel sides;

a plurality of generally parallel channels formed into the top side, each channel extending generally in a direction of the second pair of parallel sides;

a first plurality of holes extending along a first side of the first pair of parallel sides, each hole extending from the bottom side to one of the plurality of generally parallel channels;

a second plurality of holes extending along a second side of the first pair of parallel sides, each hole extending from the bottom side to one of the plurality of generally parallel channels; and

a resonator comprising a wire having a plurality of loops, each loop extending through one of the first plurality of holes, along one of the generally parallel channels and through one of the second plurality of holes.

2. The enclosed resonator of claim 1 , wherein the planar plate is rectangular.

3. The enclosed resonator of claim 2 , wherein the at least one block of magnetic material is between the bottom surface and a portion of at least one of the plurality of loops extending across the bottom side.

4. The enclosed resonator of claim 3 , wherein an electrical insulator is between the at least one block of magnetic material and a portion of at least one of the plurality of loops extending across the bottom side.

5. The enclosed resonator of claim 1 , further comprising at least one block of magnetic material at least partially within the recessed pocket.

6. The enclosed resonator of claim 5 , wherein the recessed pocket is potted with epoxy.

7. The enclosed resonator of claim 1 , further comprising at least one electrical component at least partially within the recessed pocket.

8. The enclosed resonator of claim 7 , wherein the at least one electrical component is between the bottom surface and a portion of at least one of the plurality of loops extending across the bottom side.

9. The enclosed resonator of claim 8 , wherein an electrical insulator is between the at least one electrical component and a portion of at least one of the plurality of loops extending across the bottom side.

10. The enclosed resonator of claim 7 , wherein the recessed pocket is potted with epoxy.

11. The enclosed resonator of claim 1 , further comprising a cover extending over a portion of the recessed pocket.

12. The enclosed resonator of claim 11 , wherein the cover comprises an electrical conductor.

13. The enclosed resonator of claim 12 , wherein the electrical conductor is selected from the group consisting of copper and aluminum.

14. The enclosed resonator of claim 12 , wherein the electrical cover is thermally connected to an epoxy filling at least a portion of the recessed pocket.

15. The enclosed resonator of claim 11 , further comprising a thermal mass in contact with the cover.
