Abstract

Exchange information through the World Wide Web is a way of life in modern society. The innovated dynamic workspace technology of this invention that implemented through operations of posting and un-posting, for various resources of message, files, and folder, networks and storages distributed among devices, has greatly improved the efficiency and flexibility for users in different environments to exchange information across a global network.

Claims (40)

1. A server for sharing folders, comprising:

at least one hardware processor; and

one non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising program instructions that, being executed by the at least one hardware processor, cause the server to process sharing of the folders, wherein the program instructions comprise:

program instructions for presenting a first user interface, comprising presenting of information of the folders on a first device to facilitate a first user selecting one folder from the information displayed and submitting a request for posting information of the folder on a second user interface of a second user for sharing the folder, wherein the folder comprises content of at least one file;

program instructions for storing the information, but not content, of the folder according to the request received from the first device; and

program instructions for causing display of the stored information of the folder, comprising display of a graphic indicator for the folder, on the second user interface of a second device to facilitate the second user access the content of the selected folder through the stored information of the folder displayed.

2. The server as recited in claim 1 , wherein the server stores the information of the selected folder in a file and folder section of a workspace for access by the second user.

3. The server as recited in claim 1 , wherein the program instructions causing the server to process sharing of the folders further causes the server to:

facilitate the first user via the first user interface to submit a request for removing the information of the selected folder from the second user interface;

delete the stored information of the selected folder according to the request received from the first device; and

cause deletion of the information of the folder from the second user interface, on the second device.

4. The server as recited in claim 1 , wherein the information of a folder among the folders comprises one of name, location, owner, time stamps, size of the folders, wherein the location comprises name of a computer system on which the folder resides and name and path of the folder.

5. The server as recited in the claim 1 , wherein the content of the selected folder further comprises at least one first subfolder, wherein the first subfolder operatively further comprises at least one second file or one second subfolder.

6. The server as recited in claim 5 , wherein said selected folder displayed on the second device is operatively explored through mouse-like clicking for access the content of the selected folder.

7. The server as recited in claim 1 , wherein the first device and the server further is the same one computing device or are two different computing devices separate apart across a network.

8. A method for a server sharing folders, comprising:

presenting, by the server, a first user interface, comprising presenting of information of the folders, on a first device to facilitate a first user selecting one folder from the information presented and submitting a request for posting information of the folder on a second user interface of a second user for sharing the folder, wherein the folder comprises content of at least one file;

storing the information, but not content, of the folder according to the request received from the first device; and

causing display of the stored information of the folder, comprising display of a graphic indicator for the folder, on the second user interface of a second device to facilitate the second user access the content of the selected folder through the stored information of the folder displayed.

9. the method as recited in claim 8 , further comprising:

facilitating the first user via the first user interface to submit a request for removing the information of the selected folder from the second user interface;

deleting the stored information of the selected folder according to the request received from the first device; and

causing deletion of the information of the folder from the second user interface on the second end-user device.

10. The method as recited in claim 8 , wherein the server stores the information of the selected folder in a file and folder section of a workspace for access by the second user.

11. The method as recited in the claim 8 , wherein the content of the selected folder further comprises at least one subfolder, wherein the subfolder further comprise at least one second file or one second subfolder.

12. The method as recited in claim 11 , wherein the displayed folder is operatively explored through mouse-like clicking for access the content of the selected folder.

13. The method as recited in claim 8 , wherein the first device and the server further is the same one computing device or are two different computing devices separate apart across a network.

14. A computer program product tangibly stored in a non-transitory computer-readable medium in a server and comprising program instructions that, being executed by the server, cause server to process sharing of folders, wherein the program instructions comprises:

program instructions for presenting a first user interface, comprising presenting of information of the folders on a first device to facilitate a first user selecting one folder from the information displayed and submitting a request for posting information of the folder on a second user interface of a second user for sharing the folder, wherein the folder comprises content of at least one file;

program instructions for storing the information, but not content, of the folder according to the request received from the first device; and

program instructions for causing display of the stored information of the folder, comprising display of a graphic indicator for the folder, on the second user interface of a second device to facilitate the second user access the content of the selected folder through the stored information of the folder displayed.

15. The program product as recited in claim 14 , wherein the server stores the information of the selected folder in a file and folder section of a workspace for access by the second user.

16. The program product as recited in claim 14 , wherein the program instructions causing the server to process sharing of folders further causes the server to:

facilitate the first user via the first user interface to request removing the information of the selected folder from the second user interface;

delete the stored information of the selected folder according to the request received from the first device; and

cause deletion of the information of the folder from the second user interface on the second device.

17. The program product as recited in claim 14 , wherein the information of a folder among the folders comprises one of name, location, owner, time stamps, size of the folders, wherein the location comprises name of a computer system on which the folder reside and name and path of the folder.

18. The program product as recited in the claim 14 , wherein the content of the selected folder comprises at least one first subfolder, wherein the first subfolder operatively further comprises at least one second file or one second subfolder.

19. The program product as recited in claim 18 , wherein said selected folder is operatively explored through mouse-like clicking for access the content of the selected folder.

20. The program product as recited in claim 14 , wherein the first device and the server further is the same one computing device or are two different computing devices separate apart across a network.
