Abstract

A riding lawn care vehicle may include a battery power source, an electric drive motor, at least one blade drive motor, a current sensor, and a controller. The electric drive motor may be powered by the battery power source. The electric drive motor may be operably coupled to wheels of the riding lawn care vehicle to provide drive power for the riding lawn care vehicle. The at least one blade drive motor may be powered by the battery power source. The at least one blade drive motor may be operably coupled to at least one cutting blade of the riding lawn care vehicle. The current sensor may be disposed to monitor total current drawn from the battery power source. The controller may receive total current data from the current sensor and provide feedback to an operator of the riding lawn care vehicle based on the total current data.

5. The riding lawn care vehicle of claim 4 , wherein the dynamic display paradigm comprises a graphical user interface element, providing for a change of subject matter being displayed via the graphical user interface element or a manner in which the subject matter is displayed on the graphical user interface element based on the state of the riding lawn care vehicle.

6. The riding lawn care vehicle of claim 3 , wherein the user interface includes a mode selector, and wherein, responsive to selection of a corresponding position of the mode selector, the operator of the riding lawn care vehicle disables provision of the feedback or enables provision of the feedback via a display or light module of the user interface.

7. The riding lawn care vehicle of claim 3 , wherein the user interface is disposed proximate to a seat of the riding lawn care vehicle, proximate to a steering column of the riding lawn care vehicle, or at a portion of a steering wheel of the riding lawn care vehicle.

8. A controller for a riding lawn care vehicle comprising a battery power source, an electric drive motor, and at least one blade drive motor powered by the battery power source, wherein the electric drive motor is operably coupled to wheels of the riding lawn care vehicle to provide drive power for the riding lawn care vehicle, and the at least one blade drive motor is operably coupled to at least one cutting blade of the riding lawn care vehicle, the controller comprising:

a device interface configured to receive total current data from a current sensor disposed to monitor total current drawn from the battery power source, wherein the battery power source is configured to provide power for all electrical components of the riding lawn care vehicle; and

processing circuitry configured to

receive total current data from the current sensor;

compare the total current data to a predefined operational range for the riding lawn care vehicle, and

provide feedback to an operator of the riding lawn care vehicle based on the total current data relative to the predefined operational range to enable the operator to control a speed of the electric drive motor or the at least one blade drive motor to maintain the total current in a predefined operational range.

9. The controller of claim 8 , wherein the user interface includes a display and the display illustrates a status of the total current data relative to the predefined operational range.

10. The controller of claim 8 , further comprising a user interface disposed at a portion of the riding lawn care vehicle to enable the operator seated on the riding lawn care vehicle to receive the feedback via the user interface.

11. The controller of claim 10 , wherein the user interface includes a display having a dynamic display paradigm based on a state of the riding lawn care vehicle.

12. The controller of claim 11 , wherein the dynamic display paradigm comprises a graphical user interface element, providing for a change of subject matter being displayed via the graphical user interface element or a manner in which the subject matter is displayed on the graphical user interface element based on the state of the riding lawn care vehicle.

13. The controller of claim 10 , wherein the user interface includes a mode selector, and wherein, responsive to selection of a corresponding position of the mode selector, the operator of the riding lawn care vehicle disables provision of the feedback or enables provision of the feedback via a display or light module of the user interface.

14. The controller of claim 10 , wherein the user interface is disposed proximate to a seat of the riding lawn care vehicle, proximate to a steering column of the riding lawn care vehicle, or at a portion of a steering wheel of the riding lawn care vehicle.

15. A method of providing operator feedback for a riding lawn care vehicle, the riding lawn care vehicle comprising a battery power source, an electric drive motor, and at least one blade drive motor powered by the battery power source, wherein the electric drive motor is operably coupled to wheels of the riding lawn care vehicle to provide drive power for the riding lawn care vehicle, and the at least one blade drive motor is operably coupled to at least one cutting blade of the riding lawn care vehicle, the method comprising:
