Abstract

A method and a user equipment (UE) for transmitting sounding reference signals via multiple antenna ports in a wireless communication system are discussed. The method according to one embodiment includes receiving a parameter via a higher layer; applying a code division multiplexing (CDM) scheme to the sounding reference signals using the parameter; applying a frequency division multiplexing (FDM) scheme to the sounding reference signals when the parameter is a first value; and transmitting the sounding reference signals via the multiple antenna ports.

Claims (21)

1. A method for transmitting sounding reference signals via multiple antenna ports by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

receiving a parameter for calculating cyclic shift values via a higher layer;

applying a code division multiplexing (CDM) scheme to the sounding reference signals corresponding to the multiple antenna ports using the parameter;

applying a frequency division multiplexing (FDM) scheme to the sounding reference signals corresponding to the multiple antenna ports when the parameter has a first value; and

transmitting the sounding reference signals on a last symbol of a subframe via the multiple antenna ports.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein, when the parameter has a second value, the FDM scheme is not applied to the sounding reference signals.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the first value is one of integers between 4 and 7, and the second value is one of integers between 0 and 3.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the applying the CDM scheme to the sounding reference signals corresponding to the multiple antenna ports using the parameter comprises:

calculating the cyclic shift values using the parameter; and

generating the sounding reference signals using corresponding to the multiple antenna ports the cyclic shift values.

5. A user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, the UE comprising:

a processor configured to:

configure a parameter for calculating cyclic shift values via a higher layer,

apply a code division multiplexing (CDM) scheme to sounding reference signals corresponding to multiple antenna ports using the parameter, and

apply a frequency division multiplexing (FDM) scheme to the sounding reference signals corresponding to the multiple antenna ports when the parameter has a first value; and

an RF (Radio Frequency) transceiver configured to transmit the sounding reference signals on a last symbol of a subframe via the multiple antenna ports.

6. The UE of claim 5 , wherein, when the parameter has a second value, the FDM scheme is not applied to the sounding reference signals.

7. The UE of claim 5 , wherein the first value is one of integers between 4 and 7, and the second value is one of integers between 0 and 3.

8. The UE of claim 5 , wherein:

the cyclic shift values are calculated using the parameter, and

the sounding reference signals corresponding to the multiple antenna ports are generated by using the cyclic shift values.
