Abstract

A display device includes a substrate having display portion and peripheral portion, a plurality of gate signal lines and a plurality of drain signal lines formed over the substrate, a plurality of switching elements connected to the plurality of gate signal lines and the plurality of drain signal lines and formed over the substrate, and a plurality of pixel electrodes connected to the plurality of switching elements and formed in the display portion. An organic interlayer film is formed in the display portion and the peripheral portion, and a covering layer is formed on the organic interlayer film in the peripheral portion and the insulating film includes at least one of a plurality of recesses and protuberances.

Claims (16)

1. A display device comprising:

a substrate having a display portion and a peripheral portion;

a plurality of gate signal lines and a plurality of drain signal lines formed over the substrate;

a plurality of switching elements connected to the plurality of gate signal lines and the plurality of drain signal lines and formed over the substrate;

a plurality of pixel electrodes connected to the plurality of switching elements and formed in the display portion;

an organic interlayer film formed in the display portion and the peripheral portion;

a plurality of common electrodes formed on the gate signal lines and the drain signal lines via the organic interlayer film in the display portion and the peripheral portion; and

a plurality of common electrode signal lines formed in a same layer as the gate signal line, the common electrode signal line being connected to the common electrode via a through hole;

wherein a first insulating film is formed one of between the plurality of gate signal lines and the plurality of drain signal lines and between the plurality of drain signal lines and the organic interlayer film;

wherein a second insulating film is formed between the plurality of drain signal lines and the organic interlayer film;

wherein a peel-preventing pattern is disposed in the peripheral portion and connected to the common electrode signal line in the peripheral portion; and

wherein the peel-preventing pattern in the peripheral portion has a shape which is the same as a shape of the pixel electrode in the display portion.

2. A display device according to claim 1 , wherein the peel-preventing pattern is disposed between the substrate and the first insulating film.

3. A display device according to claim 2 , wherein the display device is a liquid crystal display device, and the first insulating film is a gate insulating film.

4. A display device according to claim 1 , wherein the peel-preventing pattern is configured to prevent peeling off of the organic interlayer film.

5. A display device according to claim 1 , wherein the peel-preventing pattern is disposed only in the peripheral portion which is outside of the display portion.
